Title: Vail Access
Post by: murph13 on October 15, 2010, 05:49:23 PM
Does anyone know which gates will be open tommorrow.  I walk in from a closed gate and was wondering how long it will take for the masses to get to my area.  If the only open gate is the vail side, I will be alone for quite awhile. Thanks

You'd better be in line yesterday if plan on hunting before noon...

CAn't wait to hear the report, one of these years I need to check it out for myself, I hear all the stories about how crowded it is, just doesn't seem like it could be all that popular but maybe it is.

Well out of all the hunters in the Puget Sound area, probably half of them that don't go to eastern Washington, go to Vail. That's how crowded it is.   :o

I'm glad I've never been there. Sounds like a great place.....to avoid.

never hunted it, but i can remember driving up to the skookumchuck river to look around on a weekday morning during modern season  :yike: it reminded me of the banks of the puyallup river during a humpy run.

I was there today. It was busy, no doubt, but it didn't seem as bad as I've been reading.

I saw one Jeep in Rainier with 4 guys in it and a tiny deer on one of those trailer hitch mounted cargo baskets that came out of Vail.
