Prince Nymph  All purpose fly for River use and lakes.  I've caught tons of fish at Chopaka, Wannacut and another private lake, including several 9-12 pound Triploids.

I call this one a flashback nymph.  Its basically a beadheaded pheasant tail.   This fly is a great "searching" nymph and works well anywhere there are maylies or damsels.  Excellent stillwater fly.

I have so much of that fly tying crap that i need to get rid of.....I got one of those cheep 40 dollar kits about 8 plus years ago and then started expanding beyond that and getting more hides and furs, hooks, beads, threads and everything else for what i was tying.

But now i dont have enough time to sit down and tie flys anymore so i just buy them and the rest of my crap sits in a box collecting dust................

AWESOME FLIES BONE!!!!

Not sure if this one has a name, but basically is a damsel style prince nymph.  Works well where any damsel hatch is coming off.  Early season fish it slow.  may and June fish it with a fairly steady retrieval.  generally need a heavier tippet material.  They strike hard.

This I suppose is just another seraching nymph, hellgramite.  Dollys and big fish like this one.  Late season or holdover steelhead like it as well.

This is also a stone/hellgramite pattern.  I caught an 8 pound dolly in the Methow on this fly on 4x tippet.  Nice fish.

This is a type of scudpattern that I use in some of the hi-mountain lakes.  Worked good at Bailey p in Coville as well.  Its sort of a hybird,scud/mariner shrimp.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv47%2Fboneaddict%2Fbonesbucks%2F1scud1.jpg&hash=b8b924db23e21897e8b98b0a2d8662ec3a5e11f6)

a little scud.  This fly also worked good in Montana on the Blackfeet rez.

a big rabbit hair leech.  This is awesome in black, maroon or red and fished at night or late hours.  Another deadly fly at Bailey Lake.

The old ime standard Hare's ear.   Just about any body of water at anytimewill catch fish.  You can grease it and fish it as an emerger, or put a bead on it and fish it deep.  I like to fish it with a bead and a dryline with a chironimid dropper and you can catch ALOT of fish in most waters.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv47%2Fboneaddict%2Fbonesbucks%2F1haresear.jpg&hash=f5a62da776da6b9f9b6431e1fd46931c97479456)

Here is a dragon fly nymph.  It can be tied weedless.  Notice the difference in body shape from the damsels I will post next.  Short and thick.  Fished best righ in the weeds.  A good summer fly when nothing else seems to be working.

Damsels are sparesly tied, long narrow flies.  I have several versoins.  Some I use monofilament eyes and some I bead head and some I leave just normal. This is a famous fly from the Kamloops region.  It is tied with died blackbear.  One of the few flies I tie using bear.  I don't even want to know what bug it simulates.  Big leeches are also a staple up there, along with the biggest caddis yu will ever see called a travelling sedge.

Now the staple of every stillwater box.  CHIRONIMIDS  There are many patterns and these are just a couple I have in my box.  i have no idea if there is a pattend on a couple of these, but they are ones I tie.  the first is a Chans chironimid and a GREAT fly for any of the columbia basin lakes.

I know that bloody mary works wonders for metal heads on just about any river in the country. Works best in the mothow though. Good looking box i dont have the patients to tie up small trout flies.

funny, I just found this thread.  there's some cool patterns here.  I think I need to tie some bloody marys.  I just busted out the kit tonight in preparation for my trip to MT later this month.  My boy got his first fly tying lesson too.  Turned out a bead head hare's ear that wasn't half bad...

agreed.  Pheasant Tail Bead Head is my favorite for a dropper rig (under an elk hair caddis).  That one is a little tough to negotiate for a beginer's fingers though, so I taught him the hare's ear (my second favorite).

Nice bugs man!!!  I really like some of the damsel patterns and leeches.  I haven't tied many trout flies in the last 10 years or so.  Lots of steelhead stuff... big, swimmy, and creepy stuff.  That little detailed stuff takes some patience.
