So i got this awesome idea for some wood arrows, but don't know how to make arrows nor do i know where i can get some custom made and all that. Anyone know? I'm gonna need like 18 of em. Dozen for me and half-dozen for my assistant football coach. I would try building em myself but have no clue where to start, though one day i wanna learn. BUT! Back to as i was saying. Custom arrows, anyone make em or know where i can get em made? Thanks ya'll!

if they cannot help you try....

I've been building wood arrows for almost 25 years, and just recently began building and selling to others. I'm partial to doug fir shafts. Here's a few that I've made for other folks...

Yeh that Tree Killers arrows probably only work on Blacktails :hello:

Very nice tree killer!!
-
now that is real artistry!!! I've always wanted to learn, but any fletching i've ever done went to crap pretty quickly, mutch less something that detailed.
-
Well i was lookin at having a darker shaft with neon green splattered up towards the fletchings looking like blood splatter(like after after shooting a deer). Than it'd have 2 neon green fletchings with one black. Wouldn't that look just awesome?!

I started out with a Martin single fletcher and now have 2 jojan 6's, saw, dip tubes, etc. Just start buying a little at a time and make your own it is frustrating AND rewarding! Just ask people who make arrows, most are willing to give advice. I'm not the best but they fly. Suzanne was super helpful back when the store/museum was still open. Here's a pic (if i do this right) of my recent flu flus. Good luck!

hey tree killer, do you buy your feathers full length? are those feathers chopped or burned? i have been burning my feathers, but that raises hell with my white wraps and white feathers!
i have 2 bitz jigs, left helical clamps and several hundred uncut feathers. lots of colors and some natural barred, too! all my feathers are Martin Archery and probably older than i am! (thanks for the fletching set up dad! :hello:)

Yes, the colored feathers I buy full length. I have several thousand natural barred, and I split and grind them down myself. I used to burn the fletch, but have switched to using choppers.
The Bitzenburger jigs will last forever, I have three of them!

what chopper do you use? i am very interested in getting one... my wife really hates the smell of burned feathers! :chuckle:

That's where I purchase my wood arrows. Suzanne St Charles does an excellent job!

I have several of The Little Choppers ~ they do a pretty good job. My preferred fletch is the 5.5" Swift that 3 Rivers sells

Gorgeous arrows.

These arrows are in my opinion THE finest custom arrows money can buy. But remember it is only an opinion.
