I have been seeing a lot of younger generations on here lately killing their first deer. I am offering a little contest here and the chance at getting a free mount of it, wether you want a antler plaque, european or a shoulder mount, buck or doe. Does not matter, here are the following criterias.
1. Must be 16 or younger.
2. Must be their first deer.
3. The youngster ( Not mom or dad) must come on under this post and do a nice story and post some pictures of it. At the end of Nov we will do a poll and the winner will get what ever they want done to it. The winner will be based off of their story and experience that they had hunting not the size of the deer.
4. It does not matter if you are on the East side or the West side. If I have to will drive over there to pick it up.
GOOD LUCK HUNTING TO ALL THE YOUNGSTERS THIS YEAR.
Joe

Everyone you are truly welcome, I started this business because I enjoy doing it. I know them little ones out there enjoy it also. I want to read some stories from them. I cant wait until Sam is out there doing what these guys are already doing.
So please get your young ones on here to write their stories, you will be amazed if you let them write it themselves and see what they have to say.

Hi Joe my name is Christian and im 11 years old. The first day I was hunting around my home town with my father we spotted a legal buck we got set up and i was wating for my dad to tell me ok shoot when somebody rode up on a fourwheeler and shot it and it made me mad, my father and I decided to hunt around Kettle Falls for the youth any deer Whitetail we left Thursday after football practice and sleeped in the suburban we got up Friday morning and hiked to the top of the hill and sat under a tree waiting for deer but we didn't see anything so we left and we went a rode that my dad heard about as we drove up the road we found some public land to hunt so my dad glassed it for awhile and saw a legal buck that I tride to shoot but it was to brushy and I couldn't see it so we came back to the car and started looking again when my dad spotted another that I could see this time so we got to where i could get a shot the deer was up hill and a 160 yards away when my dad said to shoot I was ready and did just that I heard the bullet hit the deer and saw the deer go 10 yards and fell in a pile of bushes and started kicking its way out it rolled down the hill 60 yards I was really excited I had just shot my first deer when we gutted the deer out we found I shot throw the lungs and heart and found the bullet in the left front shoulder

Hi my name is Quinten. I’m ten and I got my first deer this year. Where I got my deer was up in Oreville WA. We got permission from my dads friend Dave.
The first day we went out we left really early in the morning. We hiked a huge hill in the dark. It was so steep that my dad carried my gun up for me and I fell down a few times. But when we finally got up and it turned light out we were surrounded by hunters. Dave seen bucks in there, but all we seen were does. I wasn’t too happy because Dave said it was a really good spot and the other hunters were trespassing. We also went walking around the mountain looking for deer but didn’t see any bucks.
That afternoon we went out searching for deer in another spot and came up dry. All we saw was one doe. I was bummed.
On day number two we drove through an orchard and climbed a lot of fences on Dave’s land. It was early, cold and dark. We got up on a mountain and seen a bunch of bighorn sheep. It was awesome! So finally we went to the top of this canyon and I didn't think we would find a deer. But then we seen this three by four on the skyline but there is a barn on the other side so we can’t shoot. So we move around and try to find a place that we can shoot. We scared the sheep and the deer and the deer ran up to a rocky mountain. We finally get behind a big rock that we can shoot from. It took me seven shots to finally get him down. I thought I didn’t hit him, but we climbed the mountain and found him dead behind a bush. I hit him four out of the seven times I shot. It was a great time with my dad. It’s a moment I will never forget. I think hunting is a rush and exciting. You never know what you are going to see. I really want to hunt a lot with my dad now.
-
Quinten, congratulations on taking such a nice deer, way to hang in there and get the job done. And four out of seven is more than 50%. So good for you. A couple more days and we will pick a winner, just make sure your dad gets that in the freezer so it stays while we decide.
Thanks
Joe
-
Quinten congrats on a fine buck!! Way to get the boy out there Drew!!
-
Thank you Joe. It is in the freezer. Quinten
-
Great work Q! Thats a dandy!

Good job Quinten nothing like your first deer especially with your Dad. Some things in life you do you will forget about but huntin with dad you remember forever and its waaaaaay better than wii and tv. Righttt?? nwhunter
-
Thanks Scott. It was fun meeting you on my dads elk hunt. He has a CD with all the pictures on it for you.
nwhunter. Hunting beats wii and TV anyday! I really like the buck I got. It was really awesome to be so close to the sheep. I tell my friends all about it and the cool things I get to see when I'm with my dad. Only a few of my friends get to hunt. I get to go duck hunting next.
-
Only 3 days left, any other youngsters out there with a story to tell??
Thanks
Joe

Joe will not be able to decide if there's a tie breaking vote. Especially between the two kids, he's a big meany on the outside with cream filling on the inside.

Two fine young buck hunters & it's hard to choose. Quinton, don't lose too much sleep over taking seven shots. I have been known to miss bad. I guess we should target practice this summer! Nice stories you guys. I enjoyed them both. Good luck hunting!
-
Good luck to both you boys. I will be away until Sunday night trying to fill my bull tag in Toutle. I will check the results when I get back.
Joe
-
Wow, very close. Joe will be out of the woods on Sunday!
-
Well I usually have discussions with myself, since I am now the only male in the house and I am voted out. I always include it as me, myself and I so I can have a three count on votes.
On this vote I was only allowed to vote once for myself, so Me and I are feeling left out, and have decided to give their votes to Quinton. So the way Me, Myself and I see things that is a tie right down the middle.
So both of you will get free mounts of whatever you chose, please have your dads get a hold of me so we can figure out how to get everything to me to start this.
Once again I want to wish you both congratulations on a job well done and sticking with it. There will always be memories of the first deer you harvested so make sure you keep good field notes and a journal, Right now it may not seem important but when you get older small memories seem to fade away, but a Journal will always bring you back to the day.

All I can say is that is such a great way to help with the memories of their first deer. Joe, That is AWESOME. This is why this site stands out far above any others......the people her are second to none.
-
Thats the way I voted :chuckle: Great thing you are doing Joe ;)
-
:chuckle: What a great thing you have done for these two young hunters. :brew: Thank you to the dad's and this site for promoting ethical, trained hunters for our future! Awesome job boys!! Keep up the good work! The first buck is so special. I can still smell the morning dew on the grass, the smell of my old 30-30 going off (several times! LOL) and the exhilaration of my first harvest! Now my little 2x2 horns were pretty small compared to your two bucks....but in my heart and my memories, it was the harvest of a lifetime! I remember it as if it was yesterday....but it was in fact 46 years ago! I have logged onto google earth not to long ago and actually found exactly where the buck came to rest! Boys now you have your special day! There will be other memorable hunts, memorable harvests....but your first with your dad by your side will always be your best!
Congrats.....and Joe...You are awesome!
-

If you know his number can you please PM me or let them know to contact me again.
Thanks
