Title: Montana Sheep
Post by: boneaddict on March 29, 2008, 11:39:39 AM: Anyone on here going for the OTC sheep permits or quota permits for sheep in Montana. It seems like someone told me they were going to.

Maybe someday though. At least you can hunt them.

If you are a damn good hunter and good at beating the odds, it might not be a bad deal. Hunting dates start Sept 15th and lots of them filled quotas in late OCtober, excluding the 500 units anyway. I was going to ask the question if you could buy those OTC after the draw, but I'm pretty sure you can't because oyu can't put in for the draw or other tags if you try for one. hmmmmmmm Just wondering because If I nailed a goat tag in one of those units and happen to run into a sheep with a tag in my pocket, life would be good. DAMN good!

Post by: Branden on March 30, 2008, 05:49:24 PM: I have always wanted to try the unlimited areas. I thought if a guy went right before the season and scouted one year then the next he could draw the tag. Who knows, I hear it is a really tough hunt to find the animals.
