Well, tomorrow after class I'm flying to Boise where my I'll meet my dad and we'll continue our way to western Colorado to hunt mule deer. We've done well in the past, each of the last three years I've tagged a bigger buck than the year before but last years will be tough to top. I can't hardly wait, we opted to go second season with the season dates being pushed back. All four of us going have deer tags, two have cow elk tags, and maybe bull tags depending on if we get snow or are seeing a lot of elk. We'll be pulling in to camp to drop off the trailer at daylight on Friday morning and then head out to find some animals for opening day on Saturday. It's going to be a blast!
Here are my bucks from the last few years. . . 2007 crab claw 4x3 in the snow. . . 2008 4x3 with an eyeguard. . . 2009 the hog 5x3 w/ eyeguards, 29 inches wide. Forget what Charlie scored him at, but he's there being mounted right now! All three of these bucks were killed in about a 1/2 mile radius of each other. All we hunt is public BLM land.
