Not sure if I posted these. Sometimes you shoot grouse where it is way to steep to go get them yourself. :chuckle:

That looks like a Ruffy Klick. They are fun this time of year too.
Nice set up there Ice.

Yep, learned that "grouse rope" trick a few years back. Even when solo, I will rappel down a hill after a downed grouse, then walk/pull myself straight up the hill to my hitch on my truck. We used to pass on the birds that treed on those Freaking steep sidehills, now we bang them, and bail off the edge to pick them up. I leave the shotgun in the truck and slide my Ruger on my hip and have put it to use a few times going after a downed bird. (Besides, the kids think it is really cool...heh heh heh... :chuckle:

Thats awesome sky. I've only seen one breeding pair here in washington.

Nice pic Sky, they are a really pretty bird. There used to be a bunch of them on Immigrant Hill on I-84 past Pendleton, Or. I grew up in Near Hermiston and would go camping/hunting around there a lot. I would see them all the time but only at a distance. :chuckle:
