Post by: CementFinisher on October 26, 2010, 02:08:56 PM: My first bear. Cant wait to get a monster. Sure wish she was closer to a road, shot her at 5p.m. didnt get to the truck until 1:20 a.m.
It was hellish thick wet. Still fun

Had a hard time finding the entry wound, just seen a massive exit wound in the top back portion of the skull, i was aiming center of head while her head was turned broadside. got home, while pulling her around during skining my fingers fell into her head, the bullet went right down the ear canal without any visual signs. the shot made me proud.

Post by: tshoote30 on October 28, 2010, 12:42:01 PM: Very nice Bear, got my first last year during spike elk season in the blues, he did not even know what hit him, at less then 50ft while i was leaning against a tree eating jerky looking for elk for my hunting partners. and the bear was spooked by them and did not even see me :chuckle: :chuckle: :IBCOOL: :bfg: BOOM one shot, MAN do they make an eerie sound just before they take there last breathe. again congrats nice looking bear.

Post by: CementFinisher on October 30, 2010, 09:32:46 PM: Ya thanks guys, been hunting the randle packwwod area and clearwater for bear. picked this one up on an evening hunt after work out by eatonville. Was mainly scouting for elk and doing a little deer hunting today and jumped 3 different bears by the road side, could never get a shot off by the time i stopped loaded my rifle and then follow them to the verry steep hills/cliffs. fun day, seen 5 doe, one of which came up the same game trail i took up a ridege because on the way down i was glassing hard and when i lowred them a doe standing not 15 feet from me just staring. i frose hoping a buck would be in tow, but no such luck, and seen some elk. excited for this coming weekend.
