This buck is living in the small town of Dupont Wa. He is hanging around the building I work in. He had his nose in a doe all afternoon. Didn't care at all that I was 20 yards away. I have never seen a buck this big on the hoof before and have no idea what he would score. Anybody have any idea? Can't wait till next weekend.
-
Nice buck! I guess around 120? Hope you get him!
-
Yikes, he scores big. Nice and tall, long tines, and some mass to boot. I like it.
-
130 maybe. STUD buck. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
-
Nice :o
-
I wouldn't wait till next weekend, call in sick and go get that bad boy, that is a STUD BT buck!
-
He is in a no hunting area. I know he has already spread his genes around as there is a few other smaller bucks around that resemble him.
-
What a Buck. :)
-
That's a stud. I say around 130 also. There is also a nice buck hanging around the entrance to point defiance zoo.
-
He's a good buck I have shot several 130+ and given the symetry, beam length and good forks. I guess around 138-140. :)
-

-
That is a brute, 135-140 range. Thanks for posting, you do not see many pics of live blacktails that big.
-
Bow baby!!!
-
I have a scored blacktail rack that went 120. That big boy makes mine look puny and sick. 140 easy.
-
140 easy.

I'd say 135-140. That is a dandy blacktail.

Is it a no hunting area or no firearm area? If you can get him with a bow?
Nope - can't hunt anywhere around there. Even the Weyco land is "no hunting" - believe me, I've asked. It's great seeing these studs this time of year!!!
-
Solid buck, 130 plus for sure.
-
140 3/8 about the size of the 4x5 i missed could have been some one elses if i booked hunt that week :'(...One of these days I'll put up some pic's of the buck's ive scouted :P...
-
Wow, what a buck! Maybe you could get him with your car and then tag him? (Just kidding...)
-
Wow, very nice buck.

The "Historic Village" area has always held some nice blacktails. We did a couple large utility construction projects in Dupont over last 10 years and we would see a couple big boys during the project. Trust me, the residents would call the cops if anyone found out you were hunting in there because the deer are pretty tame and many of the people think of them more as pets.
I would suggest a jar of peanut butter and a hammer if you want to fill your tag in this area.

I work in DuPont and always use the local deer for my rut "gauge". When I start seeing bucks in the parking lot, I know the pre-rut chase phase is ramping up ;)
-
Bow4elk I to do the same thing. I have been since 95'. The deer are slowly declining in numbers. Use to see large bucks on a regular basis but haven't seen one this big before. There is definitely an advantage to no hunting zones to grow big deer.
