Title: 4X4 Blackie
Post by: Wake1 on October 26, 2010, 04:23:50 PM: This buck is living in the small town of Dupont Wa. He is hanging around the building I work in. He had his nose in a doe all afternoon. Didn't care at all that I was 20 yards away. I have never seen a buck this big on the hoof before and have no idea what he would score. Anybody have any idea? Can't wait till next weekend.

Is it a no hunting area or no firearm area? If you can get him with a bow?

Nope - can't hunt anywhere around there. Even the Weyco land is "no hunting" - believe me, I've asked. It's great seeing these studs this time of year!!!

Trust me, the residents would call the cops if anyone found out you were hunting in there because the deer are pretty tame and many of the people think of them more as pets.

I would suggest a jar of peanut butter and a hammer if you want to fill your tag in this area.

Post by: Wake1 on October 27, 2010, 12:11:42 PM: Bow4elk I to do the same thing. I have been since 95'. The deer are slowly declining in numbers. Use to see large bucks on a regular basis but haven't seen one this big before. There is definitely an advantage to no hunting zones to grow big deer.
