I have hunted the Palouse area for going on 20 years. I have shot quite a few Whitetail bucks over the years and some pretty nice ones. I have shot both Whitetail and Mule does as well. But this year I ended up with a Mule buck. It is not a huge rack but I was more than happy. My dad and I were hunting a new piece of land that we were allowed to hunt. We saw a few does the day before and decided to give it a try on the second morning. Dad headed up the hill and I worked the bottom. At about 7 a.m. I heard a shot from up the hill. I pulled my gloves off and waited. The buck came right down the hill toward me and I let him have it at about 50 yards. Got him in the motor room and he only went about 25 yards and piled up. Only a hundred yard drag to the road and in the truck back to camp we went.. Now to find an elk...

Great buck!

Yup. Dad was up the hill and took one shot at it. Dads eyes are not like they used to be and he missed. That is a Remington 760 in a .270. I really like the pump action rifle.

I have a 760 in 30-06. Killed my first mule deer with it. Now my Dad has been using it. Great rifles!
