buddy made a trip out tward green peak tonight. he said there is 14" on the intake trail and the hike was a killer through the 3' drifts. they were the only ones scouting it. I suspect there will be low harvest numbers this year if the snow does not melt off. he wished the poor guys coming in from biscut or porky good luck and to pack a lunch. said the elk stuck out like a sore thumb too.....tough year!
-
I was thinking it was going to be a great year. the snow shoule melt off pretty decent next week and the elk will be out. Might be some messed up rigs and sore legs though.
-
My buddy has a watershed tag and is heading down today. I wish all the tag holders luck.
-
I just got a pic of a beauty 340 bull......back at the cabin!
-
I have heard of a couple Watershed bulls already. Seen some pics. One taken with a Muzzie... 400" bull? Anyone heard rumor of this yet?

helped a guy in there this weekend. he got a decent 6 pt in the bottom of the hole. the snow up high was impossible.

I probably spent more time last year looking into the watershed than anyone but Larry Sherry or Able Garcia and I never saw a bull close to that size.
-
same story here. we watched one that may have broke into 360 but the average was well under that.
-
Yes its true! Green score of 408 taken in the shed with a muzzleloader.

Yep - thats the one I heard about. Any pictures?
-
I am gonna be fully skeptical w/o pics!
-
Why would he use his muzzy when that hunt is open for rifle? If it was just for the challenge than thats pretty cool. would love to see pic's.
-
all 3 weapon types can apply for that hunt and you must use the type on your tag. It's the only opportunity for anyone to hunt the watershed.
-
Have you heard of this bull BLUEBULLS?
-
I received a pic of a 407 inch muzzy bull taken taken during the Muzzleloader season but the email said it was taken in the Dayton unit. Is this the same bull or were there two bulls with nearly identical scores taken this fall? :dunno:
I would post the pic but I don't have permission. It is a toad..........I can say that much.....

Different Bulls. The Watershed bull was taken last weekend, I think opening day but not for sure. Definately different bulls.

I just talked to my buddy down there, he confirmed that it was killed on the opener and right off the trail......nice luck! my buddy says he has lost over 20lbs from hiking that hole.

Right off the trail? What? That lucky ***.... I had to pack for 3 days. :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
you know that right off the trail can still mean a 3 day pack! my source says it came off biscut or blacksnake and was close to the trail.
-
I was hunting down there this last week and also heard the story.... I heard blacksnake.. and literally right off the intake trail, opening morning!

Its getting to the trail thats the tough part. After that - not so bad. That 2000 ft climb up to the trail was the man maker. :chuckle:
-
pard dumped a 350 plus today!.......still needs to get it out the gut though :bash:
-
Now I'm wishing I woulda stayed on the trail to the 7x beast! We ran into one of the meat packers on the bottom trail who said they were miles in the main trail, up a ridge, big herd, 3 bulls, the 7x7 broke away after some hoochie mama talk, 150 yard shot with the muzzy! Still lucky, trail or no trail! Sounds like a dandy, we'd like to see pics!!! My brother ended up getting a decent 6x5 on day 6...OR side.

Would love to see a pic of the bull. I may have a video of the bull for the hunter. PM would be appreciated if anyone has a pic or additional info.
