Title: Homemade antler mount done!
Post by: patton1 on November 01, 2010, 03:15:32 PM
My 9 year old son's first deer, a 2x1 blacktail, shot during modern firearm with a muzzleloader.  I decided to just mount the antler's myself.  Some skinning, some boiling, a piece of driftwood, some leather, some decorative thumb tacks, a name plate, some twine wrapped around the base of the antlers, and BAM!  Be easy on me because it's the first time I ever tried this from start to finish.  Grandma used to do ours for us, or atleast everything after the skinning and boiling.

I really like it. Maybe u could add a field photo to it as well. I always like to see pics along with the rack. Great job
