Has anyone that got drawn for the Nov. 1-20 Pearrygin tag hunted there yet? If so how did it go? Any snow yet? My brother got drawn for it but was not able to make the first few days but will be heading over later.
Thanks, BVH

Is this Ben VH??? If so, I hope your dad is doing better. I talked to KB yesterday regarding your Bro's trip. If you guys need an extra set of eyes or a hand, let me know. Good luck to your brother. That is a great tag.
-
Yes it is! He is doing much better. Sucks it happened right before the beginning of the season though. Im a bit jealous of his tag but im excited for him. I will definitely mention that to them. Thanks!
-
Good luck to him! I wish I could have that tag again!!! Someday!!!!

Not before I get it for my first time you bugger! I am jealous of your bro's tag as well BVH! I hope he tags one as beautiful as Hogsniper's last year!

Blue skies and hot. Hardly any rut action yet, and the migrators aren't in. Its good he isn't burning gas or shoe leather at this point. I expect the rut to change things shortly. He can rest easy that he isn't here yet.
-
Nothing like a good local report on the rut and migration activity. Good advice.
-
Thanks guys! I hope to get over there with him and watch some good action. Thanks Bone, very helpful info. Keep your eyes open for some pics!!
-
Any updates? :dunno:
-
As far as I know, they haven't gone over yet.
-
I saw the first two migrators move in(of the deer I had been watching) at the end of this last week. One had already hooked up and one was on the move, NOT on a doe, but obviously covering ground moving to his spot. There had been one kill at the gun range. Generally what happens, ESPECIALLY with blue bird skies is that guys get really nervous about day 5 when they haven't seen anything and then they bus t that 3.5 year old four point. I see it EVERY YEAR. If they are happy, then good for them.
-
We're headin out tomorrow! Thanks for the updates hopefully we can find something worthy of the tag. If not then we'll be back before the season is over. Pictures will be up as soon as it happens! Thanks again

good luck

Snow on the ground this morning
-
I could only dream for that tag, lol
-
I've seen three bucks that were taken so far, two nice 4 points and a really tall nice 3 point.
Nothing "ginormous" but it would have been very hard to pass up any of them.
-
Just spoke with them 1/2 hour ago. Having fun. Seeing lots of deer. Fresh snow. Just spotted a nice one and were going after it. Jessie is one of the nicest young guys I know, and I wish him the best.
-
Good luck! cant wait to see pics!

I drew this tag and sadly feel lost. This summer I familiarized myself with the area but didn't see many wt bucks. Dropped in and talked with the butcher, taxidermist, local schoolhouse pub, and beat the bush. The problem I ran into is, most of these wt seem to be on private ground-near the river bottoms, how can anyone scout and knock on a door when I only saw empty fields? Tough to productively scout in this area. Any tips or pms would be great. Spent time and money and not afraid to put out more. I know this tag rocks but unless its in the right hand it seems decent at best. Planning on leaving Friday and returning Tuesday.
-
The Pearrygin tag these guys are talking about is for mule deer. I think the whitetail hunting over there can be a bit of a challenge.

Ok. Didn't catch that. Almost 3000 ppl applied for 15 wt tags. Hopefully someone on here knows this tag and understands the opportunity.
-
I passed on this guy last saturday. Saw lots of other bucks and 99 percent were pushing does.
-
uncle took this one last year, they get alot bigger but i think this is atleast what to expect with that tag

Congrats!

Well guys don't take the first one unless he goes over 200. The snow has gotten crunchy and melting back but there are a few of them older bucks moving here in the Methow........
-
mountainman are the big boys starting to move into the alta unit yet?
-
Slowly, very slowly, but yes
-
thanks bone. You have any pics of them? something that will set the bar high.
-
Its not about score in that unit. If he's big enough for you shoot! Lots of mass and week forks running around those hills! Nice bucks but not on a score sheet!
-
I don't tend to tell which units I photograph bucks in, just so there aren't any influx of apps. I won't lie and say I haven't been there though, but I have been lots of other places too.
-
very good answer. I appreciate the honesty
-
This was an absolutely awesome hunt. It was fun to see bucks chasin does all over the place. We got this buck on Friday, and although he isn't as gigantic as some of the bucks taken out of the area he is still awesome.
-
very nice, grats
-
Nice rack dude.
:IBCOOL:
-
Looks like a dandy buck, good friends and chasing big deer sounds like a great trip.
-
Great job! :)
-
nice bucks. I can hardly wait to draw that tag
-
Great buck Jesse. One to be proud of for sure. Spending quality time with your dad, bro and buddy is just icing on the cake
-
Hey way to go Jesse, glad to hear you held out for a nice buck.
-
I would be proud of that.. Good job
