Had a good trip over in Montana. Other than my new HD camera not recording one of the best hunts and biggest Mule Deer that is :bash: . It's off to the repair shop in hopes to get it back in time for our late season hunt in Colville with Bearpaw :dunno: . ANYWAY,,,,,, The trip was a success and I cant wait to go back next year so I can shoot something too :IBCOOL: . Hope everyone is having a great season.... :hello:
The first buck was about a 250 yard shot, we were sitting on a high ridge when I spotted it pop up from behind a little hill, Adam's dad (Rod) belly crawled over to a better angle to get the shot and bammm, down he went.
Adams buck was awesome, We worked our butt's off for it and the the camera recorded everything BUT THE KILL >:( , Yep,,, the stalk, the after excitement but it f*@&ed up and didn't record crap on the kill :bash: . It did it a few times after too, loose wire? hell I don't know, I guess I'll find out soon.
The Antilope was awesome too, Spotted them about 3 miles away and made a bad a$$ stalk on them to get a shot at 78 yards. It was cool.
Anyway, I hope to know whats up with the camera soon :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

Yes, the bigger buck we killed was with a few doe's and one other smaller buck in the morning. We watched him run the doe's around a bit, I have footage of him sticking his nose up a doe's tail end & shoving her up the trail, (Kinda like a bull elk would do) :chuckle: .
Also saw a few other bucks with doe's as well...

Just got a call from the repair place I sent the camera to,,,,,,,, The repair bill for what was wrong with the camera is only about $500. Not as bad as I was expecting. BUT I sent it UPS and apparently there not to gentle with a box that says SONY HD VIDEO CAMERA all over it, the teck told me that my lens in the camera is broken and will not focus now :bash: >:( . The box had been dropped hard enough to knock the battery off the camera >:(,,, The battery is mounted on the camera and you have to push a button to unlock it to get it off so it had to be dropped pretty hard for this to happen, not to mention MY LENSE IS BROKE!!!!! Oh and the lens costs $1200.00 to replace :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: and >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Sooooooo needless to say I called UPS and they said they will check into it and will get back to me and let me know if they are going to cover the cost of the repair :bash: .
BUT now I wont have the camera back in time for our hunt at the end of next week :'( .
But hey, life goes on I guess. we will see what they say on fixing it before I get to pissed.

Great bucks! Oh, and nice rifles too. What caliber(s) did you have, and how did they do? Just curious as I took mine in 25 WSSM to Montana last month for antelope. Antelope don't like that caliber.
Sorry to hear about your camera. I don't know if it will work for you, but I've rented a couple lenses from Pro-Photo supply in Portland that I will never be able to justify buying. (The one that I rented for $75 retails for $5k). I know they rent still cameras but I don't know about video cameras. Might be worth a try.

We have two 300 Super Short Mag's, a camo 243 Super Short Mag, and a 243 Super Sort with a bull Barrel.
They shoot great
Rod shot the antilope with the 243 bull barrel, Why do you say they didn't like the 25 WSSM? Because the antilope died ?
I don't have the camera right now it's still at the repair shop awaiting UPS to decide weather or not they are going to fix it or not. I'm leaning toward FIX IT!!! But thank you for the info.
