Title: Late Archery, Swakane or Manson?
Post by: JDNehl on November 04, 2010, 12:32:47 PM: Any opinions on which is a better quality hunt after thanksgiving? I want one more good hunt in the mountains before I PCS to Oklahoma in the spring. Thanks

Post by: Bows4huntn on November 04, 2010, 04:13:33 PM: Manson herd has never recovered from the winter of 97. I own property in the Manson unit and almost always end up hunting the Swakane because of more and better bucks although the crowds of bowhunters in the Swakane are ridiculous! :twocents:

Post by: Antlerking on November 04, 2010, 05:44:31 PM: The bucks are moving, my buddy just called me today and told me his brother wacth a pretty good buck on the hillside behind ohme gardens and it wasnt there during the season, maybe local buck but I doubt it. I have also heard reports of some good deer movement around baldy and stormy mt.

:yeah: I think it's actually worse than general rifle.

You been up there lately? Lots of good growth and browse has already come back. The hills look like winter wheat fields where the burn hit.
