One of my buddies muzzle blasted me good today and my left ear is still ringing loudly. I am ready for some electronic hearing aids.
-
My left ear will start ringing at times, and I hear a mettalic echo as well. I am sure my left ear is F^%$ed up, from all the gunfire and jetblast that I have endured.
-
My wife will do that to me on occasion.
-
that sucks for you, my ears do an :P  auto tune to a different station when she starts
-
My brother muzzle blasted me twice last year. I have ringing all the time.
I looked into the Quietus meds they advertise and it is not a deal.
I talked to the doc and he tested my hearing. I have lost some, but he said the ringing could take a while to diminish but not go away.
I wear earplugs now and my brother is in Boston Mass.
-
Happened to me last weekend, Buddy stood up behind me as i stood up to shoot at some woodies, my left ear was ringing for a few hours but then stopped.
-
my left ear sometimes rings in the middle of the weak :dunno:
-
Years ago I had infections in my ears due to ear plugs from loud noise at work.
I put garlic oil in my ears and it worked.
Recently I've had ringing and I tried Castor oil in my ears. It made a big difference and I have very little ringing now. I must admit that some of the ringing stopped after the recent election. Never give them your phone number!
Castor oil works for many things!

I got it bad last Sunday rang most of the day. The only good part about it was I couldn't hear the Seahawks game only watch it.
-
I asked the Doc about my ears ringing all the time. She said it's from taking aspirin for 20+ years.
-
What? ??? Did somebody say something? :)

I have hearing loss and a constant ringing of the ears, sometime it's louder than others, but anyway you look at it, it's very annoying :bash:
-
I have it in both ears and have for about 15 years now. Its called Tenatus (spelling). Its permanent and comes from shooting guns all my life. Its done now but if I know I will do alot of shooting, I use plugs now to prevent further loss of hearing
-
I have it. It's worse in my right thatn left. had it for years.

this happened last weekend (ahem!) I could feel a 'click' sensation as it went through, then ringing. no pain though. On the drive home I'd plug one ear, then the other ear, while listening to the radio and it was almost scaryhow deaf the one ear was!
honestly I"m not sure it did any real damage tho because that night was halloween party in tacoma and I spent about 6hrs next to some speakers, then sunday I woke up with a head cold, so between those 3 things My ears were really off balance and ringing all of last week. they seem to be back to normal. or at least close enough. I still can't hear my wife complain from the other room so thats good.
I keep telling myself I"m going to start wearing plugs too but forget. they aren't pricey. I used to wear them when I played drums in a band and it was worth it :twocents:

I am in the same boat. I've had it for 15 years myself. I cannot hear ANYTHING below a certain tone level because of it. I'm used to it and other than the hearing loss it does not bother or affect me any more. Do I wish it were gone? CERTAINLY! However, I've learned to deal with it.
On the bright side, when I ignore my wife I just use the excuse "babe, I didn't hear a word you said!" :chuckle:

I hurt mine really bad one weekend when I decided to shoot my ultra compact 1911 without earplugs. Couple of my buddies had no issues, but I was in pain and discomfort the rest of the weekend. It probably lasted 2-3 days and the doctor said i most likely did some permanent damage. I never went back to have my hearing tested though like he wanted me to. I'd love some electronic noise canceling ear plugs. They're spendy, but what is your hearing worth right? I already spent $3000 plus on laser eye surgery, teeth are next, then maybe some fancy earplugs.
-
I have ringing in both ears from years of competition rifle and pistol shooting back before ear protection was a requirement.
-
I have had ringing in my ears for almost a year, I drove a semi truck with straight pipes for years , then all of the sudden they started ringing out of the blue and havent quit yet.At first i thought i was going crazy but i am starting to just deal with it cause i was told it wont ever go away , and there is nothing i can do about it.

YES! now every time I hit in the cages for baseball the crack of the bat starts making my left ear ring just like shooting... :chuckle: :chuckle:

My hearing is pretty good, but I still have ringing in my ears. From time to time it just starts up then fades away, but if it is quiet enough I can always hear it.
Always carry some ear plus (the kind of a plastic band that goes around my neck) while hunting. If I have time to put it in, which is only a few seconds, I will before the shot. Sooooo nice to hear a thump than that painful bang and ringing ears for two days.
-
constant for yrs.many yrs running concrete drills and saws

I would recommend custom moulded ear plugs. I have three pairs that are for different uses, including motorcycle riding.
I also have a pair of moulded electronic ear plugs. One side never functioned properly. However, I do use the good one for shooting at the range when you want to hear people talking paired with one of the other non electronic plugs. The downside to using electronics while hunting is having amplified (bionic) hearing that makes everything sound like it's right on top of you. You will not have any directional awareness with the electronic plugs.
Because of that I normally wear a single standard moulded in my left ear while bird hunting. This allows directional awareness when a bird flushes and protects my most exposed and previously damaged left ear.

:yeah: You only get one set of ears. I'm borderline tone deaf to a few tones from being in the "RG" vehicles for a year in Baghdad. I'll admit I have been hunting this year without protection but next time I'm on Ft. Lewis, I plan to grab a few combat plugs.

I've had the ringing for years, don't know what started it. It comes and goes but if I think of it, its always there. I think my hearing is good but there's some deep tones I don't hear well. It really bugs me when Boneaddict grunts a moose and I can't hear the moose answer until it gets close.
-
I do, constant ringing, with high frequency loss in my left ear.
-
Many years back I bought a .357 with a 4in ported barell. The first time I fired it my ears hurt so bad I thought I'd find fluid running down my neck. I bought it for a trail gun so....I fired all 8 rounds. My ears were ringing some for about 12 hours...
-
I'm in the same boat as most of you. tried that quietus crap 2 bottles what a waste of money.
-
I don't have the ringing as much as most of you guys but theres time when I wont be able to hear out of my right ear for an extended period of time. Last time it was over a month before I could hear hear properly out of my right ear again. Sometimes it'll hurt to the point where I can't sleep at night and other times it feels fine.

I have a ported 12G and my ears ring a lot after only hunting for a short time. Any ear damage is permanent and irreversible. Worse part is that I also wrecked the hearing of my kid. Don't make the same mistake. Get your kid hearing protection if you take them.
