I drew a mission mz tag, it opens on the 25th (thanksgiving...) should I expect much rut activity from the big boys at that time? It seems like they shoukld be going crazy, but I have not paid much attention to the mule deer rut. thoughts?
-
A lot of Mule deer in the rut right now. I'd still like to have that tag though. I would think you will be at the tail end of it. Catch them while their resting. :chuckle:
-
They will be moving a lot, looking for uncovered does. The second rut will just about be starting.
-
Even if the rut is winding down a bit.....the bucks will be feeding like crazy.....so like Bone said, they will be moving a lot! Don't worry, you will see tons of deer!
-
I can't sleep. All this talk about mule deer rutting.
1 week and 1 day.
Best of luck to you, Wacoyotehunter.

-

In yakima the rut still dosent seem to have kicked in hard :dunno: Im seeing lots of loan does and groups of loan does w/ no bucks around.
-
I can't sleep either!! My original post was at 2am!! This hunt is wearing me out already!! :P
-
good luck - we look forward to pics.

Just returned from Montana. The whitetail bucks we saw were all chasing does and seemed to be active in the rut. Wt's this far north seem to start the first week of November and peak the second week.
The mule deer bucks were hanging around in the general vicinity of does but did not appear to actively in the rut. Usually starts in WA around the 15 of Nov until the end of the month. You should do well.
God luck

If the weather holds they should be down. You will probably see some nice ones even with out snow. Good luck Great tag :)

Rut is really weird this year. Its almost winding down in the NE corner. There is a high buck to doe ratio compared to the Valley. I bet most does got bred the first go around. It started early and hit with a vengeance. In the valley it just seems to have started with earnhest yet today I saw both bucks and does with little interest in breeding. LOTS of uncovered does in the valley. Not a very goot buck to doe ratio there.
-
I went out today and they are rutting pretty good here in the teanaway. the group I saw 3 bucks 5 does. 2 dinks and a good 3x3. that was running the little guys away from the doe's
-
should have a great hunt in the mission! seeing lots of bucks still rutting hard even though they did start early.
-
What is the snow doing in the mission? Should I plan on hunting up high? Snowshoes, showmobile, quad, horses? I could do either if it was going to get me into the spot...

Keep track of the WSDOT cam on Blewitt.
Coming over Blewitt there was a buck right on top.
