We are considering doing an Introduction to Long Range Shooting clinic this spring after hunting season and kinda wanted to see if there was any interest here. The basics would be covered:
Equipment
Ballistics
Range/Field shooting
Ammo and bullet choice
Wind conditions
Calculating drop and windage based on BC's and velocities
We are going to try and do this at no charge. Mainly just to get guys out shooting more. You would need a rifle capable of 1moa or less at 100yds, and a repeatable scope with at least an elevation turret or ballistic reticle. Probably 50-75rnds of ammo as well. We have been asked alot to do this and have just kinda been taking guys out on 1 on 1 trips, but though it might be more beneficial if a group wanted to try it.
If your interested, post a reply, pm me, or email me at tmr@rbrosrifles.com. If there is enough interest, we can put something together in the next few months.
Thanks
Travis

You lucky *censored* :P it so open over there you can practice long range shooting when ever you want. On the wet side there is always a hippie within 1000yrds in all directions :chuckle: Curlew is the sportsmans dream.

Am I detecting E side envy? :)
C'mon you guys are lucky enough to have 2 beautiful foxes like Gregoire and Murray living on the W side. What more do you want? :chuckle:

Its true :'( my east side envy is deeper than the bottomless pockets that Gregoire and Murry think they have. To add to my disgust Gregoire was raised in Auburn so all around my town there are signs that read "Proud hometown of Governor Christine Gregoire" :'( :bash: :'( :bash:

I hate living here. No neighbors, noise and nothing to do but hunt and be outdoors. It's rough.

"Still 4 hours from the house."
Everything is at least four hours from Curlew!
Except good hunting & fishing... ;)
-
BTW - Let me know if I can help any at the spring clinic here in Wenatchee.
Regards, Guy

Thanks Guy,
Your input would be valued. Jesse and I have been planning this for awhile and just figured it would be a great way to expose people to something new and give something back. We will probably bring a few toys also to play with at the farther ranges ;)
-
What kind of ranges do you think you'll be covering? 400-600ish? I know your big guns can do 1000+ :D
-
I'd be interested in that and im sure i could bring some friends that may be interested as well, good idea you guys!
-
I would be in for sure. As log as its a Friday, Sat or Sun I'm good!
-
Tony,
The ranges will probably be out to 600-700 yds. We will have some spots to shoot farther if guys want to play a little. The Wenatchee class will be out to 600yds.
It will definitely be on a weekend..no worries there. Probably have some inside time to cover the basics, then head out to do some shooting after that.
-
So any idea on when yet? And thanks for making this possible! I'm excited about it. Been wanting to learn more about long range, as well my BDC.
Will there be a chrono there to chrono our actual loads or should we try to get all that done before hand? I haven't had mine chrono'd yet but am going to see if Gig Harbor Sportsman club has one I can shoot thru Friday as Friday morns are my shooting days.
My 300wsm has a short barrel so I know its not what my tables say.
-
I'm there!
-
I will have a chrono available for everyone to use. This will give us a base to start with. I am guessing probably in March. January and Feb. usually don't have many days without rain. We also have SHOT show in January to prepare for. March usually gives a few days without rain.
-
Awesome, thanks again!
-
Sounds good, I'll be there for sure. Know of at least one other person who would want to go too. And look at some of your toys you guys produce :)
-
I am interested as would my brother. Once you have a weekend set, I will know if I can attend. Work may get in the way.
-
