-
what part of that deer is muley? small ears, has a black tail. i have hunted there for years and could count on one hand the mule deer ive seen there. scrub oaks rocky ,small river that = muley it could have some in it im not a biologist but i would say no!

Good job!

Backcountry55,take one more look at those ears. Nice and wide the rack makes them look small. How many blackis have wide three point racks like that? I grew up in that country leave White Salmon head east and the racks just keep getting bigger. My uncle's live in Goldendale and have lots of nice mulie crosses to show for. My grandpa's basement is full of berdoin mt blacktail/mulie cross bucks.

Great Buck! Congrats! Looks like a great adventure!
-
Very nice buck, and a creative way to get into a good area to hunt. I hunted up in the W. Klickitat unit during the regular season and didn't see any legal bucks at all. Saw a 2-point that looked a lot more like a mule deer than a blacktail.
-
Backcountry, Nice blacktail. Bigger than any mule deer I have seen in my late archrey Naneum quality hunt unit!
-
rycheck lets see if we can find you someone on here to help you get a good naneum buck! can anyone h elp? i like to see everyone make the best out of a quality hunt we all no in this state they dont come often.good luck!!!
-
DAM, I heard from TC you had to Cross the river, But I didn't know in a JON boat with 2 inches of Free board in the current. Very NICE BUCK and nice long shot too. !!! Congrats..
-
any luck on the naneum info rychek? awesome buck backcountry what does that pig score? :chuckle:
-
Benchleg, I belive it scored in the mid 130's. It is a very nice buck. Been scouting every weekend. I need it to snow.
-
Congrats nice buck! Boat may be small but at least you didn't have to swim!
-
One heck of a buck Jeff... I don't frequent here much but certainly recognize that terrain! Gotta love that tag! That's got to be you're 3rd best blacktail to date?

Nice buck and pics, country does look familiar. I have a late muzzy tag for 578, hoping the snow and cold gets the moving. Anyone else been up in that area recently? any hints would be appreciated.
-
Congrats to you on a fine buck, :brew:

Yeah, have the late Archery tag and put in 2.5 days of hunting. Seen one really nice buck just a tad smaller than this one in this thread and another smaller buck. Couldn't close the gap on either to get the shot....
