Well, for those of you that missed it, the presentation put on by Rainshadow on calling cougars was FANTASTIC ! ! ! ! ! It lasted a full 2 hours of very informative information. It covered all of the questions which were asked as well as many new ones asked there. He showed many videos he took during his hunts spot lighting his setups, terrain, time of day and directions from which the animals came from. He actually had 1 kill on film. There were his E-callers on display (which he also demonstrated), hand calls (also demonstrated) rotating pictures and much more. There were also his calls and CD there for purchase. I can not thank him enough for his time and dedication to the sport of predator hunting. Please take the time to visit his website for further info on his calls and products.

Steve we can't thank you enough. That was a heck of a seminar.
Pete it was nice to finally meet you.
-
I agree.
Steve is a class act and definately ahead (and leading the charge) of the cougar calling curve.
-
I learned a ton of info.............thanks to Steve for putting it on!
-
Damn it, I wish that I would have known, I would have been there. Maybe next time, eh? When was it?
-
Dumb me... I thought today was Saturday.... That was one presentation I did not want to miss. I "need" to call a cougar in!
-
Man I wish I could have made it today. :bash: Hopefully you guys will get the video together before Christmas so that I can treat myself to a present.
-
Very good presentations. My dad and I learned a lot. My dad said "Everything he said made a lot of sense, like so much sense, I should have already thought of it." :chuckle: My favorite part was when Steve said, "let them be the predator". I think that might be the secret ingredient I have been missing.
-
I was a little intimidated by the standing room only part... being my first ever group session!
I'm glad you guys enjoyed, and I hope it contributes to putting a few cats on the ground this season! (Hope it adds to the roles of the WWPHA too!)
Again, apologize about the sound quality of the videos. Once edited they'll be good to go. NEXT TIME! I promise!

I guess my only suggestion with doing seminars that involve a TV, is put it higher on the table so all can see. I could not see the videos very well at all and just listened to it. Maybe a box on teh table to raise teh TV up :dunno:
-
I went to the meeting and sure was impressed. Have a whole page of notes on things I never thought off. Really made sense when he said dont watch your 6. I have 2 house cats and man they see every little move around them when in hunt mode. Some good info for sure...
-
Crap, wish I would've known about that. Sorry I missed it. That's one thing (amongst many, I suppose) that I don't have any experience with - I could've learned a lot.
Anyone know if there will be another one somewhere/time?
-
Cabela's actually didn't know that was the topic of the meeting. Somebody missed it because the "Outfitters" didn't know there was a "Cougar Calling Seminar" going on that day.
3 different people told him there wasn't a talk going on... so he left.
He was upset when he found out what happened, and he called Cabela's and explained. The store Manager said they want me to come back and do it again sometime after New Years, and they'll advertise it themselves.

Sweet. Congrats Steve.

That's great! I'll keep an eye out - looking forward to it.

Rainshadow1: When I made the reservation for the room, I told them it was a cougar calling seminar and that we would need additional seating as we expected a full house. Well, they did change the seating to allow for more people but all they had on the door was a "Reserved" sign at that was it. I guess I should of made sure they put up more signage to get the word out. Lesson learned there. I think they might pay a little more attention now when we make a reservation.
If they do not set you up for another seminar early next year, let me know and I can maybe get another reservation, book both rooms with them knowing you will be putting on the seminar again.
Thanks again for everything you did for us that day and we did gain one new member for our WWPHA so far.
Thanks again..
Randy.

Rainshadow1: Also, I will be giving the video I took at the seminar to BTKR as soon as I get it copied. It is a full 2 hours unedited. I will see to it you get a copy of the finished product.

Thanks Randy. If I do it again my videos will be NICE AND LOUD!!!!!
-
Rainshadow - If they set you up with a seminar make sure to find out where they will set you up.
Cabela's doesn't normally announce, or make public, the reservations for their meeting rooms.
I am sure that when someone asked an employee about the "cougar calling seminar" that the employee thought it would be like all the other "seminars", advertised and in one of the hunting sections on the store floor.
If they had asked about the WWPHA meeting they probably would have been directed to the meeting room.
