Proud dad, David Volmer, shared with us these photos of the awesome bucks that his daughter's took in Washington.
David writes, "Leisha Volmer (age 18) shot this huge typical mule deer with her .243 Win. After glassing a huge canyon in unit 278 the buck was spotted lying 338 yards in the bottom of the canyon. One shot with her .243 hit the buck in its bed. It jumped up and ran down the canyon around a corner and out of site. I hiked down to the bottom of the canyon and found it dead no more that 50 yards from where it was shot. The buck green scores somewhere around 190 gross typical B&C and is 28 inches wide.
Her sister, Kayla Volmer (age 20) shot this 25 inch non-typical buck one canyon over with one shot from her Browning BAR .270 win. It was spotted at dusk in the bottom of the canyon by her and I. It scores around 185 gross non-typical B&C and is 25 inches wide."

Son of a bi..............I had to refresh the page to even notice there were ladies holding those deer. Great job and congratulations.
-
Niiice! ...... and the deer aren't bad either. J/k. Those are some great bucks. Must be one proud father.

  :chuckle:
-
wow! Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that I noticed the bucks before the good looking gals.
-
ill take any of the four, i dont know what order but im not picky.
-
The next time I see David at work, I'm gonna have to talk to him about these bucks. I believe the older daughter shot a big bull in the Blues a couple of years ago.
-
wow
-
Very nice animals! Its good to see some fellow ladies out and about! I think just after deer/elk season is really the only time I'm receptive to hearing "nice rack!" in a conversation... and I believe it fits in this case. :)
-
Great WA bucks.
-
must be a typo 178 does not have deer in it. Nice bucks though!!
-
I didnt see any deer? :dunno:

That pic of the older daughter has been hanging up in the Wholesale Sports store in Kennewick for a while now. I point to it every time I am in there with my daughter. She will be taking hunter safety in the spring from out gun club and is starting to see hunting/outdoors is more than a bunch of old guys hanging out drinking together...and pictures like this seem to help a lot with that argument.
Great deer no matter who shot them, but the fact they were taken by a couple of young ladies with a proud dad does make it a little more cool in my book...

damn........... :yike:
:yeah: Holy Toledo Batman!!! Those are some damn nice Bucks... Congratulations...SOmeone said to me this year." Shoot like a girl...if you can!" OK!!! :bash: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-

It says 278, not 178...which is why they found deer there. I agree no deer in 178. They went the way of the elk.

Whoops I had a typo. I meant no bucks in 278. So now we know there are no bucks in 178 either. :chuckle:

Wow those elk bodies are small.......J/K......Good looking deer. One proud "Pops" I would imagine.... :)

Guess I am moving to tri cities :tung:

It sure is fun having a daughter, or daughters. that likes to hunt. I'm proud that my daughter has a bull, and a big buck under her belt. Now all I need to do is get my 21 year old son to meet a hunting girl like that.
-
Keep raising those hunting gals, folks! :) I need more demand for women's camo clothing! :chuckle: That way Cabelas will be equally as fun for me as it is for my boyfriend.

Two deer. Two dears. Nice story.

Wowza! Those are some great looking animals! Congrats!
-
...and what about us normal people who are short, fat, ugly, can't draw a tag, and struggle to kill a 16" 3 point every couple of years.... :'(
-
Pathfinder it would help if you got out of the truck more often. :chuckle:
-
Looks like she pierced the ear of that buck in the second picture. Maybe even grazed the eye ball a bit?? Great bucks!
