I have had ads up on craigslist and on here looking for decent used shock collars. I really don't wanna pay 100-300 bucks for a decent one brand new. Any other suggestions as to where to look? If anyone sees a killer deal in the bargain cave let me know :chuckle:
-
Well thats what you are going to have to pay. They arent cheap and hold there value.
Here is a link. This site is a great resource for Us that have collars that might need a battery or an O-ring ect. They do offer reconditioned collars.
Thats about the best I can do.
Good luck.
Hope this might help.

E burg... Once you have one you'll wonder how you survived with out it.. I got a tritronics for 230+ tax new Just think of it as an invisible leash...
-
You just need to bite the bullet and get it done. This is not the item to go cheap on. I bought a tritronics basic for around 230 or so and it is built to last, and performs as advertised.
When you do get one just make sure you learn proper use. The command must be learned and known by the pup before you introduce the ecollar. Lots of check cord work is how i accomplished this. After the transition it is rare that I have to apply stimulation for a correction.

versatiledogs.com has a marketplace, there are several collars for sale right now

+1 on the tri tronics, I bought a sport 50 almost 10 years ago and it still works everybit as good as the day it was new I believe with the trade in of a 100 lite I had it cost me 160 bucks. My advice on collars is............Quality Brand.......Tri tronics or dogtra...........and a low end model without a bunch of bells and whistles that could present a problem as it ages.......examples would be ,vibrate/tone warning.

Maybe E-Bay.Never know what you might find there.
But Like its been said they are worth there weight in gold.

Check the refuge forum and others like it..... (maybe Ifish.net, gamefishin.com, 24hr campfire, Jesse's) in the classified section. You should eventually find a used one. I sold my Tri-tronics a couple years ago on a forum.

Ditto on the Collar Clinic. Good support. Oh, I vote for TriTronics. :hello:

take all the above advice and apply it to this situation-
have you ever dated a chick and had all your buddies say "that b1tch is crazy! get rid of her!" but you just smile and nod and tell them they are full of it... until 3 months later when she looses her meds and cooks your pet rabbit. and only then you say "gee whiz, I can see what they were talking about...I shoulda listened"
Thats how ecollars are! your gonna buy the cheapest piece a crap you can get your hands on. you will grow to hate it. it will slow your dogs progress or screw him up big time and then you will turn around and spend even more money for a good one... the whole time muttering something about how those fine upstanding individuals on that one forum were totally right and you should buy them all a case of shells. :IBCOOL:

I think Doug and Alice @ Cook Canyon sell collars. You might try there- I assume you're in Ellensburg. They're on Pointer Lane off of Wilson Creek Rd.

This is a pretty funny post......................................My pro trainer who is a Tri tronics infuentials guy(Sponsered) uses the least expensive model they make to train field trial champions and hundreds of hunting dogs per year in the state of washington.
