ABOUT A MONTH AGO MY GSP PUP DIED. WELL I WASN'T GONNA GET ANOTHER ONE TILL NEXT SPRING, OR EVEN THE SPRING AFTER. BUT ON WEDNESAY I SAW AN ADD ON CRAIGSLIST TO REHOME A GSP PUP. THE GUY JUST WANTED $75 FOR FOOD AND STUFF HE SPENT MONEY ON. SO I TALKED TO MY WIFE AND WE JUMPED AT THE OFFER. I KNOW THAT I WAS TAKING A RISK BY BUYING AN UNTRAINED DOG THAT IS A LITTLE OLDER, BUT I DO NOT REGRET IT AT ALL. LUCKY FOLLOWS ALL THE BASIC COMANDS. IS VERY FREINDLY WITH THE WIFE AND KID, MY KID ALREADY LOVES THE DOG, AND EVEN GOT A PIGGY BACK RIDE FROM HIM.. LOL LUCKY ALSO HAS A GREAT PREY DRIVE, AND POINTS BIRDS VERY NICELY, CAN'T WAIT TILL I TAKE HIM HUNTING WITH ME!!! :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: PICTURES TO COME LATER

that would be awesome. My dog still needs some work. (plenty of work actually) but he'll get there. I think at 8 months he should be easy to train.

Very nice looking dog. Was Lucky the previous dog owners name for him?

Great looking GSP! Looks like you are both going to be very happy.

What a great looking dog. Hope you guys have a lot of great seasons together. :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:
I was wondering about your last pup, you said you lost him to parvo. Is the new dog fully vaccinated against parvo? Have you spoke to your vet about the possibility of the disease being around your place :bdid:? Parvo is nothing to mess with and I just wanted to make sure you took the steps to protect your new family member.

yes. the guy i got him from said he is vaccinated, but i talked to the vet and had him vaccinated again just to make sure. and the day my other pup died a i used several 5 gallon buckets of bleach and water and cleaned the whole yard and garauge. also threw all the food dishes and toys away.

Congrats on the new guy. I was thinking the same about the parvo, it can live in a house for a LONG time as well as the ground. Just something to think about. Best of luck with him..He sure is cute!

A puppy's last series of shots includes the parvo shot,so if this guy is over 12 weeks,he should be more than fine.
-
Sweet! Glad you could give him a good home!

you can change it. I rescued a lab that was 3 years old and his name was "rick" i just couldn't keep it, tried his new name and it only took a few times and he had his new name down. Did the same with my 9 month old pointer when i got her. they pick up on your voice more than the word

HAHA That's true.I changed my little dog from Tuna?? to Luna
And she comes to dog ,tuners, little girl ,or food jk
Big one is Niki and comes to big dog, big girl, nikkers, stupid(loosing her mind, really)
So if you start calling it something different,it will pick up on it.
Any retrieves yet?

no, well not real ones yet, he retreives toys and pigeons flawlessly though. i haven't hunted with him yet. might miss the rest of the season, he needs work with his fear of guns.
