Anyone looking to learn how to talk to elk should look at the material from Elknut. I have listened to Bugling and Beyond volume 1,2 and 4. They do an awesome job explaining what each sound means and how to apply in the field. They go through some real life situations and explain which calls have worked for them and why. Check them out they more than worth the money.

I haven't seen any of them, but if I run into them I'd love to. I love everything he has posted on here. TOP QUALITY information and I REALLY appreciate the information he shares. May make it harder for me to get a bull as more folks wil be educated. ;) Bugling and Beyond are the titles? He is a sponsor I believe, so I have no problem with the plug. He contributes alot.

Huntingnut, thanks for the kind words & comments!
THe DVDs are about various elk sounds & what they mean along with methods & techniques we use & other stuff. It seems to work for us just fine so thought I'd share these thoughts with others! Thanks!

Thanks for the kudos guys!! It's great to see you've enjoyed my wreckless enthusiasim!! (grin)
MountainWalk338, you've got me real curious now! (grin) Why wouldn't you consider Vortex? Not that you need too, but the way you say it, is it because of me? I will be honest & say I know a lot more about Elk & their ways than I do about Vortex Optics. But the more I dive into them the more I realize that I made a solid choice in using & carrying them. I've made a ton of comparisons since I've became associeated with them & nothing beats them in their price-range. I'm not rich or even well off, but comfortable. I want to know when I have a couple hundred or five hundred to spend on hunting stuff that it's getting me the best for my money, so far I have not been dissapointed. Doesn't mean I've not made bad choices in my nearly 53 years, I have, but these days I try to keep them at a minimum! (grin) Good Luck in your hunts, we all need it!!
Now if you want to talk elk, let's talk elk!!! (grin)

till i began visiting this sight, i have never heard of vortex optics. i know a company named vortex owns badlands. any relationship? thing is i just never heard of them before. i need better glass to telll the truth, but i want to really use something fore i put alot of money on the barrel head. my 8 powers are great an i got to use them for a little bit fore i was able to buy them. but for guiding, i really do need a more serious glass. alot of times i end up using my hunter's glass. dont get paid very much at all in mt so im pretty carefull with my money. only get 75 a day, room and board and tips, so im dang carefull.

I purchased a pair of 10x42 vortex diamondbacks from Elknut and I couldn't be happier with them. They are an excellent piece of glass and are probably one of the best values for your money. Don't wait, order some!
