So the story goes like this... my 13 year old and I had been out all morning in the 7 degree weather, we had seen quite a few deer but he had finally had enough cold so we headed back to the truck to warm up. I made him some hot chocolate and me some coffee, we decided to check out some places and do some glassing. Seemed everyone else had the same idea. We slowly drove along and pulled over to glass when a rig pulled out of one of my favorite spots to glass from. I glassed while Kasey started playing his IPOD and warmed up. I could see lots of does but nothing legal. Freezing,  I came to the truck and grabbed my coffee and started one last look behind each sage brush and in every nook and cranny, I finally spot 2 does below us maybe 300 yards in some thick crap I looked around her and finally saw tines sticking up from behind a sage brush and I could see 3 pts on it. I mark a few bushes and ask Kasey if he wants to go after it..answer is no, I'm cold and will wait here. I grab just my bow, range finder, tag & binos and off I go. I get to the spot I marked and start looking, the wind is kinda messed up so I moved down the ridge some to get it better and started inching in towards the large sage I thought he might be at. I finally see his tines poking up over the sage and range them, 43 yards downhill. I glass him to see which way his body is and to make sure he's legal. I prep for the shot and take 3 steps forward and to the side to get a clearer view of him and pull back. I put my 40 yard pin on his shoulder and slowly squeeze the trigger. The arrow hits him in the shoulder and breaks him down right there, I walked up and finished him off. Good hunt and time with my son, memories that will last forever. Came home early due to the poor weather here and no power, thought it'd be a good idea since we have a 8 mos old..:) My EQ worked great again, 70lb Rytera Nemesis, ACC arrows & Wasp Boss Bullets...

Oh yeah, thanks for noticing the fat guy,  it wouldn't hurt me to loose a few lbs!   :chuckle:
