I took my 13 year old daughter out for her first deer hunting adventure yesterday. She scored on a nice doe with an 18 yard shot from the ground blind at my buddy's place. Her previous hunting experience was one turkey trip from a ground blind that had her missing a tom with her bow. I hope she's hooked enough to keep going out each year with her bow. She's still scared of rifles after her Hunter Education class, so it'll be bow or nothing for a few years.
Talk about a proud daddy moment!

2 shots mandatory from a single shot 20 gauge that kicked like a mule. Several of the younger girls cried over it. She hasn't wanted to shoot even a .22 since.

That's why we don't do any of that "mandatory crap" at the one I teach. We figure that anyone who "needs the experience" will get it when dad/mom/whomever-they-hunt-with feels they are ready.

Very nice! Congrats to your Daughter!

She was using a Magnus Stinger 2 blade. I didn't think there was enough horsepower in her bow to push a chisel point head through a rib, so I had her shooting the 2 blade cut on contact head.

All the lighter hunting bows we have, for my wife and my brother. Are set up with 85 or 100 grain buzz cuts. They are a killing machine!

Congrats to both of you Todd & thanks for your help over the years. Your lucky , my daughters have had zero interest in shooting & hunting. I tried everything as they were growing up. We have caught some fish together though. To bad they grow up so fast. Good job. Mike
