I've been trying to get pictures of this plane for a few months now. It has been doing some touch and go landings on Big Lake. These are a couple that I have taken so far. Feel free to add any plane pictures you have taken.

You flew it or maintained it? Always loved that bird. Is it true that they leaked fuel until they were hauling arse?
-
I took this one up in Ketchikan, Alaska.
-
Thought I had more scanned, not A plane but from one.. Over the Junjik headed for Springcreek. About 15-20 air minutes West of Arctic Village

That is one cool picture.

Those are sweet planes, that one has a different cockpit configuration than most.
-
Military planes are cool.

No connection really, just really love the C-17. Very fond memories of driving into UWT from Graham on Pacific Ave. and seeing them fly above me every day.

XD thats one fat lady! :o

Burrhead, that's a Republic SeeBee. Very common amphibious plane that started life just after WW2. The military used them for awhile as the OA-15. The last one was built in 1948. 8)
-
Wow. That's some great info. I would have never guessed that plane was built that long ago. Every time I hear it coming I scramble for my camera and run out the door to try to get some pic's but I am usually to late for the best picture opportunities. I want to try and capture it as it hits the water and on take off.

Crew Chief, 1982-1986. If you look closely, you can see a small puddle forming near the right main gear, and another under the inboard main gear doors. They dripped constantly, but especially right before launch when the fuel system was pressurized with liquid nitrogen. We "wore" JP-7 every day, whether we wanted to or not. We called it "Essence of 7".

That is the "B" model, trainer. The aft cockpit had full controls, the instructor sat there.
-
I know this is not a plane, but I thought it was very interesting. While in the woods on a cliff, I watched a crew working on power lines. It was pretty neat to me to watch them from above including the helicopter. It looked like kind of dangerous work including the men in trams riding on the high power lines. I am sure they would love to have the whole series of pics that I have of them.
-
This is not a plane but it does relate. I took these up in Metlakatla, Alaska. They have an old abandoned air strip that was built for WWII.
The tower and the hanger.

Here's a few from a fishing trip to Canada.

So that Chinook is going to be ok?? Those chopper pics are awesome...
-
Oh yea, that is just a standard issue max performance take off. Believe it or not, the Chinook is the fastest helicopter in the Army. It can cruise along at 170 knots (196mph) while the next fastest is the Apache at 192mph. 8)

Radio controlled airplane.
-
Campmeat some of those radio controlled airplanes are insane. Great shot.

Some pictures I took at Maho beach in ST Martin this past week. The planes land right over your head. Some come in real low. Then when they take off they sand blast you. My kids and wife in the middle of the picture.

Here are a few different planes we saw while fishing the Nushagak in Alaska this summer.
The first few pics are the Grummond Goose that we flew in on. I believe it was built in the early 1940's. the others are planes we saw while fishing. The plane with Tikchik on the side we actually caught fish under. You can see the pole tip on the left side of the picture.
-
Yet another missed shot. >:(

Havilland Otter
I am on a two day trip in Alaska. This is the plane that I am riding in over to Metlakatla.
-
Here's a couple more from Ketchikan and on the flight to Metlakatla.
-
Awesome pics guys!!!

737
-
I flew on a 737 into Prince George BC one time. I think they cut a bush pilot loose with a jumbo jet. LOL. This guy side slipped it just above a ridge all the way down into the hole that Price George sits in. Kicked it sideways and touched down like it was nothing. 8)

Taken in Idaho....
-
Don't even get me started with airplane photos I've taken.... :chuckle:

Here is one "close to home" if you will...

Nice shot. I heard that Alaska has dropped Horizon. What happens to this plane do they just repaint or bone yard it?
-
Heres a couple of helicopter pics from DNR wildland fire.
-
Caught this one last week doing so touch and go's on Lake Cavanaugh.
-
I thought this helicopter was gonna crash. It was much lower and flying sideways over my house before i got the camera out. The whole house was shaking. It seemed much closer than the video shows. I could see the pilot through the window.

A took a ride on a B- 17 2 years ago out of Boeing Field in Seattle. The Plane's name "Aluminum Overcast. What a thrill. My Father flew B 24's in WWII. One shot is of Downtown Seattle taken during the climb out of Boeing, and another from the glass Nose Gunner position.
