Ok yesterday I was set up n a good area of elk n deer tracks. So I cow called a lil then I left. Later that day for the last stand of the day I went back to the same spot but higher up so I can see the ridge line behind me n the old loggin road they r using below me so I am 50yrds from where I was earlyer... after awhile I see this beautiful 4x walking past where I was first set up at earlyer total of 80yrds from where I'm currently at :bash:. I did the buck grunt n doe n estrus call to get him to come closer but nothing. He went n the gully, then his lil side kicked came along n grunted but he was a lil guy.... will he be using the same rout? How do I call him up too me? What bou doe in heat to get him closer?

I put more value in being in the right place at the right time. Calls and urine can help, but nothing beats being in the right spot. Over time, chances are you have everything come together for a shot. Who knows, if you move back to the oiginal spot, thebuck may just walk out of range behind you. I would look for a well used trail and set up close to that.

apples and doe pee you put a bag of apples there the does will be there and he'll follow look for antler rubs trees close together rubbed and thats a good spot to be you seen him walking if there is a high frequency of them thats his normal route hes familiar with the area if there is less frequency its still his path but hes less confident in that area its a better ambush spot if you dont find any it still may be his route just at area of his route less known to him great spot hope you can seal the deal!
