Title: 2011 Mule Deer Calender Fund raiser!NEWS UPDATE
Post by: boneaddict on December 08, 2010, 04:43:04 PM: I DID IT! I finally published a calender. It was an experience for sure. I made a premium calender, meaning the size is larger and laminated cardstock versus the cheap crap. This project started as a thought to do through Cost-co, who does awesome calenders by the way, then evolved into going through a publishing agency. You might have seen my post in the photography section asking for input and describing what I was doing. I appreciate the input though the calender had a mind of its own. It was enlightening to know the quality of the photo had to be crystal clear and full framed (versus cropped) in order to make the cut when blown up so large. I thought I had some great shots as they look great on here, but at that size imperfections explode.

This project was to help start a fund raiser for my daughter to go to Reno. Obviously Dad put most of the effort in this but it was her idea.....soooooo if you want to support my daughter and help send her to Reno to represent our state on a winning basketball team, and would enjoy a large high quality calender, take a look. Its not the cheapest calender on the planet, but at least you know where the animals came from and the photographer who put it together.

I think its May is from 2008. I was looking for something that had a lot of green in it to offset the colors a bit and May is usually a green month. I didn't have any high quality fawn shots, and actually I like looking at bucks in May to get myself psyched for whats coming. Soooooo I through that pic in. That deer was a runner up to the WDFW cover when the whitetail got chosen along with one other photo. I could have used the big three or a couple other bucks I had, but I wanted that color.

Good, cuz I just sent it to over 1,300 people with a preamble about raising funds for your daughter's trip. Hopefully it will help! Got to get my own copy on order too. Love the simple, clean layout your chose and the full-bleed images. Super delux man!

I'm trying to decide of I want to pick up more or not. The sales kinda shutdown on the link at Lulu. It might be getting too late now to sell anymore with the year already starting. I was hoping Bow4elks message would inspire some more sales but it hasn't yet. I'll need to be a little more on the ball for next year if you guys are interested. Maybe a couple different versions. Mule deer are still my favorite, but maybe a mixed one, a bird or waterfolw one. We'll see if I can come up with some more good shots. I'm pretty happy how this one turned out, and no one can believe how heavy duty it is. Thanks again for your guys support.

I buy somewhere's around 8-10 different calendars each year for home, office, exam rooms and what not and many of even the "good" wildlife calendars are very flimsy compared to this one you put together. I gave one to my Dad for his garage back home as well. I have no doubt I'll be getting whatever you offer again next year. Wouldn't hurt my feeling to see one with some Moose in it..... ;)

A little local team from Washington went down and faced the best that California could throw at them. They faced the girls in the big program that they have developed to feed Stanfords basketball program, and they defeated them. They pounded them on Saturday. We then faced that team again in the championship. After getting trounced they shuffled in several superstars when we faced them in the championship. In the worse officiated game I have ever seen, we beat them in overtime. Daze had the heart of a champion and gave it everything she had. Dad was extremely critical in the previous game, so I am not just saying that because she is my little champ. She along with her team faced the giant and as far as I am concerned beat them in so many ways.

You nailed it Groundhog. Thats exactly what happened, and though we had some iffy officiating at times, they got that one right. Go up strong Daze. I wonder how many times she has heard that.

Thanks everyone. Jack, I'll post a pic of their socks before game one. They changed everyday as thats the part of their uniform they can be crazy on, and leave it up to a bunch of gals to "GO CRAZY"

Post by: boneaddict on June 02, 2011, 03:16:51 PM: If you can only imagine what its like for a 10 year old to walk into a building where there are 52 basketball courts, where 752 teams from across the nation are playing, when to them walking into one of our local tournaments or gyms is a big deal. Even being 6'5 it was intimidating. There were NBA players there with their kids, and the caliber of competetion was something else. HECK, even where we were staying, The Atlantis with a skybridge to the center was UNREAL for me, let alone her. A trip she will NEVER forget.
