Ok need some help. What bow do you like, The new Hoyt Vicxen or the Mathews Passion,
Looking at the 40-50# bow.
:dunno:
-
Both are good bows but i would shoot all of the bows you can. I wanted/urged my wife to get a mathews but after she shot one she hated it and said that it hurt her shoulder while drawing it back. She ended up shooting a hoyt and still to this day she loves it. You have plenty of time before any season and like always many of the companies may have new bows hitting the market soon.

:yeah:
Everyone will tell you their "brand" but like cs said, go shoot a few. Ive had Alpine, Hoyt and Mathews. I told myself I'm not completely sold on any brand and when I decide to get a new one, I'll shoot a few different ones. I'd like to give that Bowtech 350 destroyer a try one of these days.

Get the Hoyt!! Know a couple girl friends that have them, and they love them. For what its worth, as a guy I would definitley shoot the Vicxen over the Passion. If you have narrowed it down to these 2. Get Serious Get Hoyt

I have a BowTech now, I've had it for 4yrs now and its time for a new one, its only a 30-40# , so I'm gonna move up to a 40-50# and i've kinda narrowed it down to the passion or the vicxon , just wanted to get some advice on what other people think, I've got lots of time just want to get the right one,

Has anyone ever shot the hoyt Vicxen?
-
Do I dare say it.... Yes I have. Several times actually, Although the draw length was about an inch shorter than my normal draw length, It still shot it very well. Very quiet with no handshock. Its very smooth, i was afraid that given the smoothness and shorter draw length it would feel " mushy" in the backwall, but it was very solid. Although I didn't chrono it, it definitley had plenty of speed, given the shootability of it I thought it was an awesome bow.

You don't have to shoot a girl bow. I know most of the bows from hoyt you can get in the 40 to 50 pound range.
-
Go to the local pro shop and shoot them all (Mathews, Hoyt, bowtech, ect). All manufactures make a good bow its all personal preference. Just because I shoot a mathews does not mean its the bow for you.
-
The Hoyt is the better of the 2 bows.

The Hoyt is the better of the 2 bows.
Care to offer up why?

Yeah the best thing you can do is shoot all the bows you can and see what fits you and what shoots true for you and its just preferance of what feels good to you. The worst thing you can do is buy a bow because of the name even though its obvious that some are better than others.

OK
Better Riser..not soooo reflex back
Better Grip.
Better Stings
Better Price
smoother cams...and Mods so YOU can change the Draw length without spending 100.00 on a new cams

If buying new, most archery shops have all the sizes of cams and don't charge you to swap out to a different DL. You can also pick up brand new cams on ebay for about $50-60 if it is a bow the shooter will be "growing into".
To the original poster-I don't really know anything about the two bows in question, but I would echo what has been said about shoot as many as you can before buying.
