So I havnt seen hide or hair of a coyote for a week but the one I saw at night. I haven't seen any fresh tracks or sign where it's been like a highway before. I've had some howl from a distance but not seen them.
-
Well, I would say they are like me on the west side...hiding out till this dang rain dies out!
-
Easy, you have snow bird coyotes. They went south for the winter. :IBCOOL: If it means anything, they did not come my way either.
-
Lol yea I think the packed up and left for warmer ground
-
Go check out the coyote madness again- Dang big 10 and gringo shot them all :bash: :chuckle:
-
I totally here you on the idea it seems like they left the county! I have a few places that are like a that seem at times like they have cenventions their and it's been about two weeksish and virtually total silence! I can only assume it's this crazy weather?
-
lol i know how you feel! i go out to all my hot spots where i have never NOT got a coyote and all i kill is time lol wait tell breeding season
-
I went to a spot tonight that the dogs answer usally quickly to the howl and not even a peep! Drove by another area that I seen 7 a week ago and nothing, not even tracks in the mud? The onyl thing I can figure is weather or maybe their shopping for x-mas![img] :chuckle: Now the trick is to fins their wal mart and then I'm back in business!
-
Well figured out two of my spots have been found so that explains a little :bash: Time to dig deep in my bag and go to my honey holes that I have saved for late in the season
-
I'm having a tough time too finding any......I did shoot at 1 the other day, missed.
-
Yeah I need to go to another place I have been putting off for some reason and ask permission again since I know that it has been left alone for some time, not to mention it has bobcats in it!!!!! Maybe I'll get lucky this weekend?
-
Yea I just wish it would snow and quit raining
-
slow year for me also
-
Yea my guess goes with this crappy rain, no one wants to be out in it
-
i have been seing a lot less to than usuall
-
Well I hope to get out and see what I can't call up
-
Up here there was wet heavy snow that the coyotes had to plow thru. As soon as they can walk on top of the snow they will be out and about more. Maybe this weekend.
-
So called one in this eve but the wind switched and got busted at 200yds
-
Somethings up. I usually see 3-5 per night and I've only seen 1 in the last two weeks...
-
Yea it's strange but I hope it picks up tomorrownight
-
Around my area, you can here them howl between 10pm and 4am. Once it starts getting light, they are dead quiet. Hope to get out Saturday and convince one or two to come say hi and quit being so snobish.
-
So went out today and saw nothing. No new tracks anywhere to be found and nothing came to my called but a bunch of birds.
-
Looks like they are pairing up . I went to a ranch today and did a lot of walking and driving the roads on virgin snow .
The tracks i did see indicated more doubles traveling then singles .
Time to get out the howlers.
The tracks I saw indicated they are traveling a lot on the night shift as most tracks i cut were hours old .
I called a few stands and saw nothing , not even a Magpie .
-
The one I tried to get today was howling his head off right at daylight and he was all alone. I think he was looking for a buddy.
-
I normally hear them frequently at my place. I haven't heard them lately, but I know they are still coming in. I lose about one cat per week. :o
