I am submitting my dad's hunter report for him and this question never dawned on me until now. For the deer harvest when they ask for number of points on each side do you think they're wanting us to report eyeguards as well or not? He shot a 4x4 with eyeguards should that be reported as a 5x5 or just a 4x4, some people count them as a point others dont. WDFW does not (but should) have a box for eyeguards so that it could be distinguished from other points. I have typically reported my harvest without counting eyeguards. Just curious.

anything over an inch :twocents:

I would report it as a 5x5. Just think if you shot a 2x2 with eyeguards in a 3 pt minimum unit, you wouldn't want to report that buck as a 2 point, as it would not be a legal buck. So I would follow the same reasoning, and count the eye guards as points. (even though they are not) :stirthepot:

Very true, i did shoot a nice 2 by 1 (had eyeguards on both sides) so really a 2x3 and i reported it as such, but for some reason since i dont count eye guards beyond that, when i report i dont recall counting the eyeguards, but maybe i did it's been 3 years since i've gotten one so who knows. Thanks.
