Are ya talking about a coyote event ? We never get anything advertised here for stuff like that.

Please do that. If no coyotes, I guess we could torture the locals at least at a good watering hole. What is ADC work ?

:)they are all dead now, do not waste your time. Jerry kills them in Othello then hauls them to Coulee to try to fool you guys. There was a great plague. trust me :dunno: and there is poison sage brush everywhere and snakes, the best calling is right next to the hiway. and flash floods, an mean wimen, lots of police with radar too.
yer welcome

I'll keep that in mind. I love hunting next to the highway. Easier to do drivebys. Are there any coyotes that have been made into decoys ? I need to know. Also, can I use my buddies squeel like a pig deliverance call ?

Isn't the most effective ADC work done in the Spring?  I would really be interested in hearing the details of how you manage some of your ranches throughout the year?

Asotin, to far away. Othello smells like french fries, Connell has a prison, I'd get busted for having my Rock River, Spokane, well it's Spokane. Pot holes is to close to where I used to work for Gardner Trucking. But thanks for the help.

spring time? for the most part yes that is true , BUT alot of control work has to do with problematic coyotes
( singles) and population densities .
I wont discuss my Methods on a open forum , It took me a long time to learn what i know and am not willing to just give that kind of knowledge away to the general public.
im not trying to sound rude or be a ars  about it , its just information i hold quite confidential .
The ruling on the use of dogs while hunting coyotes has really put a dampener on my control work as far as denning and breeding seasons go .

I don't want to discuss methods, in specific terms, but I would like to start a discussion on what you are doing on ranches during specific times of the year; how your ADC work has helped the landowners; what populations and birthing numbers have been in areas you do your work, comparable to other parts of the state that does not see ADC work.

You are the only person I have heard of doing ADC work in areas I did my serious hunting in the mid to late 90's.  I have a lot of opinions on what I observed and have refined some of my opinions since learning more about coyote biology and behavior in greater detail the past ten years.  It is just hard to compare what I was, with guys doing gov't work in Idaho, Colorado, and the Dakotas.

:)Well then if you must hunt around coulee city, you need to adopt some strange techiques. but trust me on this.
Get some duct tape and put yer electronic on yer roof, then drive around playing yer caller until you see a coyote. stop or slow down and shoot at it. then move on.
good luck
Carl

If you would like to discuss this on another thread that is fine with me , Im sure ill answer some of your questions but i cannot honestly tell you ill answer them all .
or we could just have a talk via email . Im sure you are very aware that calling alone is not all that productive . Denning is your ace in the hole as far as keeping numbers in check .
Population density is best controled by year round hunting but i keep my presence to a minimum and call these areas as little as is needed throughout the year .
numbers stay about the same from year to year except in a few areas where the numbers went down after taking a large number of coyotes out of the area and have still not rebounded after several years, i have my own theory on that one .The Mange played a vital role in one area just a couple of years ago .
When you refer to the areas i do work in how is it you know what areas they are in ? Who were the Gov Control agents you knew in Idaho , I know alot of those guys as well as a few in Wyo , and  Mt.
Did you work for the Dept. of Ag , BLM ,Dept of Fand W , Cattleman's Assoc.  NWCO or just private contracts?

You Asked:
what populations and birthing numbers have been in areas you do your work, comparable to other parts of the state that does not see ADC work.
The only feed back i get on that subject is from the land owners , numbers for the most part stay about the same from year to year except in a couple of areas i mentioned .
starting a discussion on what i am doing on ranches during diffrent times of the year would be a open discussion on my methods.
during the late spring and summer i do not do anything unless i get a phone call .

Lol.  I didn't mean for you to try to answer everything here, I just wanted to let you know what I was interested in asking.  It sounds like you are open to a kind of Q and A thread, in which we can ask some questions in a leisurely manner, and you can answer what you see fit.  I just want to utilize you as a resource since you are posting here, and have some great knowledge that folks can learn from.  I'm more interested in the "why's"  than in the "where" or "how's"

Ill do my best to help people learn the (limited) amount i have learned .
I really have not harvested enough coyotes to really matter compared to some .
I do not consider myself to be a professional , perhaps a professional STUDENT of Mr. Wiley Coyote. :chuckle:
