you pick an "a" or "b" tag. each tag will give opportunities for each season, but favors either gun or bow. an a tag gets more time in the rut, but limits your time with a gun.....and vice versa. there are also unit regs that com into play. it is actually a bit more cofusing then wa....if you can believe that.

You can buy one tag and hunt all three weapons.  Once you decide one whether you want to rifle hunt more or archery hunt more then it's really easy.  Shoot it's an out of state multi season tag and only costs $120 more than a multi season tag here.  :)

Yes you can use multiple weapon types for your tag, but the seasons vary depending on A or B tags

The A and B tag thing is for elk only.  I'm pretty sure this post is asking about deer hunting.  You have to choose a general deer tag or a whitetail deer tag.  The seasons vary greatly depending on where you want to hunt.  A quick trip through the regulations will help you decide.  Once you buy the tag, then you can hunt in any of the areas listed under that tag.  The tag you choose may have an archery season in the area you want or a muzzleloader season, maybe, and most units have an any weapon season.  If there is a season listed in the archery section for the tag you choose, then you can hunt it, and the same goes for the muzzleloader and short-range weapon seasons.  One thing to think about now rather than in August is that Idaho requires a bowhunter safety class or an equivalent.  Just download the complete regulations for 2010 and read through the deer section; there will be a few changes to the 2011 regulations, but not many.

Sweet! thanks. And yes i have been through the archery safety class. My brother and i will be headed back to our old hunting spot in the north end of unit 39. We go steep and deep. Hope they let use hunt wolfs next year?? I am nervous though. Dont know what the wolf situation is like there.

I was in 39 for the late archery. Seen fresh wolf tracks most everyday. I sure hate them things :bash:

I would say its a step above any where in Wa. Seen tons and tons of does and smaller bucks. It was my first trip down there so it hard for me to judge. It seemed really good to me but it could of been crappy by local standards :dunno:
