Mississippi Duck Killing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8xeFs0SQ9g#)
:chuckle:
-
Ptoooey ! :yike: The boy ain't right.
-
I have seen them do it in the videos, not for me though.
-
Deliverance? That boy had a pretty mouth.
-
That kid is a waste of flesh. What a smug, sullen little boy who likes to hurt things.
Of course, we don't have people like that up here in the Pacific Northwest or on this site. Or do we?
Seriously, when a non-hunter or someone who isn't as dedicated as most of us sees sick crap like that (or 90% of TV hunting shows), it does really bad things for the future of our sport.
Dispatching a duck by mouth as a kid is one thing, but holding it while alive and smirking at it and then posting it online? What a *censored*.

Hell yes we do. Ive done it like that for years. Keeps the heads from popping off. and the birds still look good. they dont always die right away. that duck looked to have a broken wing. yea it probably hurt the bird a little but he was demonstating how to do it. Its works quick , much quicker then ringing its neck.
Follow, you sure seem to be pretty judgemental and damned opiniated for someone just starting off. Why dont you just try to take it all in. And tone down the attitude a little. :twocents:

Thats gross Chester. I think that is how you get bird flu.
Followthescience- For being a teacher, u seem to be really judgemental and have a strong hatred towards younger people. You called me a little boy and im 23.

LOL... I dont even have to take out my dip to do it ;)

lol :chuckle:
I don't have a problem with it at all, just dont want to bite a duck head. Yeah he did look like a *censored* for holding the duck that was obviously very much alive while talking to the camera though.
Waterfowlers are just a different breed i guess.
-
I saw it done on the Duck commander videos later on so i figured it wasnt that unusual. :dunno: I started doing it after i got my ass chewed by a GW when the heads popped of a couple ducks i rang the necks on. In this state you have to have a feathered head attached to the carcass. He said just bite it. :chuckle: worked well enough ive just kept on doing it. with the way the regs are its either do that or give it a ten second head start and shoot it again :bdid:
-
Probably removes the feathers the same way... chomp
I'd never do it, and would have a few choice words for anyone I was with who did do it. There are better ways to go about it :twocents:

When i was younger i would bite the head of fish. But thats normal

Pinch the neck to cut off blood flow to the head ?
-
seems like biting is quicker. just a quick crunch, then back to shooting
-
Jeez I post an interesting video and now we got another moral dilemma on our hands! Haha. Seems to be a common occurrence lately.
-
I've seen too many parasites crawling out of them there feathers.
-
to be fair im just crushing the skull, not taking a bite :chuckle:

....Just about any way that doesn't involve me putting it in my mouth and biting until I hear a crack :chuckle:
Quick necksnap in 1 hand isnt too hard
edit: oh, the skull thing changes everything lol

Luck hasnt been too good with that, either i lose the head, or the bird revives itself and makes a run for it 5 min later. to each their own i guess :dunno:

Touche, I guess your way would solve that :chuckle:. I'm not hating, just not my thang, the less duck head in my dip, the better :P
-
nope, just grab it by the bill, lift em up. quick crunch and drop em :IBCOOL:
-
That's how I do it. Quick and easy.
-
If ya cant ring a neck without the head pulling off, you need moe practice...
another way I have used is a chest/keel crush...
-
I know i could do it other ways. but it really doesnt bother me at all, and its just so damned quick. its usually about the time we have another group working into the spread. quick, easy, and effective. I dont know why i would want to ring ones neck again :dunno:
-

Me too... :puke:
-
interesting way of doing things... lets just say I'm probably not going to try it.. :chuckle:
-
One of the guys out here says that is a common pracitce he has several family members that duck hunt and he has seen many people do it. He is from Michigan, he said thats common practice in the midwest. and south. He knew what the kid was gonna do when he watched it without sound in about 10 sec. I just sqeeze their heads in my hand then again I dont care if the head stays intact I dont eat the head.
-
yuk, patooey gross,I dont like them cleaned and cooked....here's another trick that will save ya money on calls,,,,,,blow in his arse, wont freeze up and keeps your lips warm :chuckle:

wouldn't that squirt *censored* everywhere? I don't think that I like that method. Maybe you should explain it. I'm probably thinking of something else???
I admire Chester's dedication to his head biting. Hes not backing down.

Just don't forget to break the lip-seal when ya breathe in ! :yike: :bdid:
-
I might do that for the first cripple of the season, just to get it started off right. Anymore than that and I might be coughing up feathers :chuckle: those zz top duck commander guys are all about it though, I guess thats how they do it in da south
-
I'm totally going to do that next time. I'm tired of the heads poppin off lol
-

Don't act like you haven't done it already.
-
:)
-
Well, in 40 years of hunting I have never heard or seen someone do this. Interesting.
-
I just whack their head against the gunnel, butt stock of shotgun (I do this till the blood appears on the stock or gunnel), or I pop a another into their head if it looks like a good swimmer
-
I've bit head for a long time... I've had birds that i've smacked thier head against the gun stock take off after a while... Same with the "suffication" method of pinching the body under the wings... You can do it any way that it pleases you... And if you don't like how i dipatch my game, no problem, i just hope you have your own *censored* and a dog to chase after your born again cripples! :twocents:

i'm with you. never bit a head but if the bird seemed clean i'd try it. Anymeans necessary to a quick dispatch because theyre tough. i've had em take off on me after an improper neck wringing and a butt to the head. most of the time if im rushing i'll dispatch then throw in the empty deke bag to ensure no born agains pulling a prison break.
I woudlnt pull that stunt on a valley bird though theyve been known to have toilet paper on em from the poo ponds ahahaha
-
I thought it was funny. Why was that cruel or unsportsmanlike? Different perceptions I guess. It was fast. Did you see the look on the kid's face right before he did it? He had to psych himself! I'll bet he doesn't really do it much.
-
No, thanks. Saw too many ducks land in the poop tanks at the sewage plant for an evening meal. Might be OK if you like corn-fed duck, though.
:puke:

Yeah, but? How does one know it's NOT "second hand" "corn fed" duck? :bdid:
-
Just smack their dam head over your gun barrell. Done deal.
-
smash skull any way you like... if you don't have any logs or rocks around and you don't want to get your gun bloody...why not crunch it....but really, couldn't you just use your boot to squash their head too...I don't really care how you do it...I have chomped grouse heads before...
