Hey everyone, I just got this bird mounted up today and since he is an interesting specimen, thought I would take a pciture of it and post it to see if you can tell me what it is. Look closely. Don't beat me up to much on the base and tape and lack of grooming, but I'm done with him for the day and time for a beer. John

Eurasian X American wigeon cross?
Thats kind of what I was thinking, looks like it might have a little bit of american wigeon in it. Very cool ducks, Id love to shoot one.
-
definitely a cross between an American and Eurasian. The head coloring is all american except for where the green should be which is Eurasian coloring...

You guy's are right on, it is an American X Euro. What made this bird stand out was that it was harvested the last week of the season (last year) and was exceptionally plummed out and large. The colors all over this bird were gorgous. It sat in an opened wal-mart bag in a frost free freezer for 7 months before I got it in the shop.:yike: Now why can't I ever shoot one like this for my collection??? :dunno: Anyway hope you enjoyed the pic's, and have a safe and Happy New Year! John
