After hiking countless miles up and down lonely old logging roads with borrowed shotguns and never even seeing a grouse I finally got my very own shotgun for Christmas. I took her for a spin today expecting the same old routine of sore feet and empty hands but out of the corner of my eye I caught this guy strolling through the forest. I was so surprised that I was finally seeing a real live grouse that I almost forgot what I was up there for. I shook that off pretty quick, took aim and took home my first grouse. It was the first time I'd even fired the new gun, too. This may not seem like much at all to some, but all of the blood, sweat and tears I've put into it this year have finally made me one hell of a happy hunter. First shotgun+first shot=first grouse

I would love to post a picture of the Grand Moment but I couldn't quite figure out how to do so. Help?

When you post, click on "Additional Options" in the lower right, and the option of attaching a file will come up. Congrats on finally finding a grouse. They can sure be hard to find when you're specifically looking for them. But if you're after deer or elk, they seem to be everywhere. :bash:
Not so much this year though, bad year for grouse. I saw very few compared to what I'd normally see. No doubt due to the wet/cold spring we had.

Hope this works
