This was the very first free roaming bison I had ever seen. He was grazing by himself along the AlCan up in Norther BC or Yukon. He was park of the famous Pink Mountain herd, which is a huntable population. This bull was old and injured and obviously displaced from the herd.

This bull was down the road with about 60 animals. He was the herd bull.

I realize these aren't Washington animals, though I saw one on the Tiger hwy that escaped once, but they are still cool creatures. I put in for an occasional hunt, but those odds are really poor.
