-
Save the carcass for longtat to eat.
Sorry MRAY, previous testimony from you says you always guess gross. Bucklucky was very specific.
-
Longtat is probably whippin up a mole stew as we speak lol.
-
It's taken care of , but I will catch up with you on that beer!!(grin)

I"m happy... I guessed 350...so I was almost exactly between the net and gross...which is what I was trying to do...
Thats a great bull, but I'd have to pass on him.... :tung:
-

Bone that may be true ... but tmike wasn't specific on what he wanted so technically we are both right! ;)
-
does that mean more beer?
-
Holy Crap! I post a little fun contest and now i have to sell one of my kids to pay off the prizes! Hmmm.. Which one? :hello:
-
What ever happened to "Nets are for Fish" . Who the heck guesses the net score anyways, usually the stuck up trophy huntin, It aint going down unless it scores 420 net rich guy. :chuckle: Just Playin guys :chuckle:
-
Gross are for blacktail hunters, net is for elk and mule deer chasers. :)
-
Oooo, you got me there Bone! :'(
-
I don't know about that? We've never even considered a net score when scoring elk in general. We're not entering them in the books though, it's just for grins! I always go gross!!

Just flippin him crap back. If someone asks about an animal, I like the "if they grow it, count it way of thinking." Such as thats a 340 bull or thats a 180 deer.
If someone asks for score, I always give them net or what the record book asks for since thats really the only score that counts if entering or talking.
I suppose thats the same arguement as counting eyeguards or not for deer. :)
-
does that mean more beer?
YES!
Just playing around guy's I was happy I just got that close!
I like the "if they grow it, count it way of thinking."
You know me I like that way of thinking too!
-
I do give the net score when I am measuring antlers for people. I will write all the measurements down on a score sheet with deductions . Of all the deer and elk I have scored with a tape, the only ones I was off on were the ones I scored green. All the dry stuff I have been real close. But in the field or pictures its all gross score for me. My mind is to simple to figure out deductions on the fly :chuckle: I'd have to take off my boots to do that and well.....whatever!
-
Is that a trophy mole hunt? I've got a couple "book" moles to my credit. 138 and 136 grams were my 2 "best". Still in search of that elusive 5-ouncer.
-
It's for a managment Mole ... A trophy mole hunt has a trophy fee added 3-4oz, 4-5oz, 5-6oz and world class 6oz and above PM tmike for a list on prices! :chuckle:
-
I don't want you're guys honey holes or anything, but I would really like to go hunt where there are alot of trophy moles running around, but no other people. Can you throw me a bone here?
-
Sadly, my prized mole hunting grounds near Maple Valley were grossly mis-managed in the late 90'a and early 2000's. Over-hunting has severely damaged the entire mole ecosystem. Back in the good ol' days, I could count on 2 or 3 a month. Sometimes 2 or 3 in one day! Now I'm lucky to get 2 or 3 a year. Sigh...........
-
I thought I was drawn for a spring multi-season mole hunting permit, but sadly the results were nullified, and I didn't get selected in the redraw....(Update, apparantly a third drawing by Outdoor Central is going to occur....I'm keeping my fingers crossed.)
-
Hey everyone I have great news. The state just granted me unlimited land owner tags! Get ahold of me to set up your hunt dates. I manage for quality so there is limited space on select days, and the best news is there are no trophy fees. BYOT :)
-
Oh , and if you do get a trophy mole You can contact me for mounting purposes. My prices are: Mole shoulder mount-$485.00
Wall pedistal----$585.00
Lifesize---------$1200.00 and up (depending on habitat, dirt, etc)
Mole rug-------$150.00 per inch
Hope I dont get in trouble for advertising :chuckle:
-
I already have one of those, shoulder mount that is and I think you are way overpriced. Ill put some pics on when I get home tonight. :rockin:
-
How many mole hides would it take to make a nice fur coat for the wife?
-
bucklucky, man I hate to see what your deer/elk mounts cost!!! (grin)

I heard some of those elusive blacktail moles can get upwards of 7oz, is that true?
-

-
This is too funny! I was only kidding about the prices...geeezzzz :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
There are folks that brag about packing them out whole, I'd like to see that.
-
:bs: Theres no way . I would have to make at least 4 trips to get one of them roosiemoles packed out.. :chuckle:
-
Come on bone remeber there is only on guy on here thats tuff enough to pack out an entire trophy sized mole! it took me like nine trips with mine earlier this year but I'm a wuss!
-
WOW!, 9 trips. It must have been a freekin monster! What did it score?
-
it was a 8 inch rug with a 4/8 inch skull!
-
Wow, thats is impresive! Hope you didnt hurt yourself packing him out. That kind of stuff is tuff on an old feller. :chuckle: OOps , did I say that.

I kille d this TOAD On a DIY hunt last year, Archery( had to use the super slim bemans) We tried to get it out whole but we coulnt make the last 5 steps so unfortunatly i could only get a 3/4 mount. If anybody is interested in a guided hunt call huntnphool he has access to 190 class moles, but he will only take M-ray. :dunno:
-
I called him in with a dying nightcrawler call.
-
Now that is a trophy! I'm jelouse. I wish I had the money to go on a guided mole hunt. Its more popular than hunting elk in Utah!
P.s. I cant believe you have a Mole mounted! :chuckle:
-
why bother with moles, when you can hunt the dangerous game of small vermin, the barn rat. get a pellet and go hunt rats in a big barn and stall house. some of them can be brave. in one 3 month stretch i gunned down 100 sumthin rats, some of them booner rats. :)
-
Rougheye your killing me :chuckle:, You don't need a guide. If you do your homework you can find some block management B and C moles.
-
All I know is, if rougheye can mount a mole I can mount a rock chuck...lol
anyone know what mole stew tastes like...lol
*censored*s...lol
-
LOL!
-
I dont know what they tste like but i heard it was a cross between Spotted owl and golden eagle.
-
Longtat, what you do with you rockchuck is your business :bdid: :P. LOL Leave me and my mole out of it. :IBCOOL:

I got one of those wenas shorttails last night, but unfortunatly I used the 410 on him to cape him instead of my knife. I'm not sure even the magic taxidermists around here could sew humpty back together again. He might make a good shredded beef sage rat sandwhich though. :yike:
