Hey guys heres a buck Ive been getting pictures of for about three years. What do you think he might score?
-
Im no score guy....but I like the double eye guards, etc. Heck of a buck.
-
175" nice buck
-
150 ish
Kris
-
Around 160", a real nice buck
-
Looks like a mid 150's buck to me.
-
I was guessing he would be in the mid 160s. I think I know enough about his habits to have a decent shot of killing him next year. He should be a book buck by them.
-
I would guess 150ish, heck of a nice buck! love the split eye gaurds.
-
Not a Booner but a great buck. I have him in the 150's gross. I will try to run him through my buckscore software and let you know what I come up with.
-
Do you have any straight on and 90 degree photos?
-
Give me a few minutes to post another pic. Trying to sort through about 8000 trail cam pictures.
-
One heck of nice looking deer....but he looks malnurished and sick. Hopefully he makes it through the winter. :dunno:
-
I dont know about scoring but he sure is a wall hanger
-
I think I arrowed his twin (kinda) back in 1996.
Ask polarbear, those bucks do look dang close in score.
-
I'd put him around 160" or so, lots of scorable measurements on that bad boy. Dandy
-
I came up with 152"
Sweet looking buck!
-
:dunno: I am terrible at field scoring so I'm no help :bash: but I would let him see his maker without hesitation.
-
155
-
He will be a shooter next year for sure!!! I will agree with Alwine and DB... mid to upper 150's... Dont get hung up on score, he's a fantastic buck!!!!!!
-
 :dunno:164
-
As stated 152ish. NOT a booner, but still a trophy.
-
I know he likes apples!
Remember that next year ;)
-
On this buck i wouldnt care of the score till it was in the back of my truck!
-
Very nice buck maybe 140 to 150 ish.... :twocents:
-
Nice split brows. I say high 140's. :twocents:
-
Really nice G4's .... He is well over 150 in my opinion...
He has booner genes.... his left G2 being his only weak spot.
-
I found more pics of this buck with different angles. 140-150 inches, are you kidding me. His "score" doesnt really matter that much to me either, but its always fun to try to guess. Now what do you think?
-
Most have never actually seen a booner let alone killed one, this deer is nice, but not even close to 170! its narrow, avg mass, beams are not long.. that head on shows that. 150 at best.. I would say 148.
-
I would say "Shooter" :chuckle: The first pick you posted he looks a little on the horney side though. No pun intended....
-
The additional pictures don't change my opinion of him, I'd stick him in an instant, but I wouldn't expect him to make the B&C record book. P&Y yes, with a score just above 155" range gross, and low 140's net.

x2.
Super nice buck no matter what. Wouldn't hesitate on him! Hope you see him when it counts.

Still say upper 140's to lower 150's. Here is a few pictures of a mid 150 class buck. I picked his sheds up this year and with an 18" inside spread he would score 156".

The last pic is crazy.... main beams are much better than i thought... i'm thinking closer to 160 now....
fyi, a lot of us have seen and a few of us shot booners... especially people who hunt in stevens. ;)
-
I just noticed in the pic with his head down facing us that his tines have a little curve in them also. Probably a good inch longer than they look from the side.
He could easily be 165+ :twocents:
-
140
-
Looks like longer main beams and better mass than the 156 buck.
G1s 3 1/2 3 1/2
G2s 9 1/2 7 1/2
G3s 10 1/2 10 1/2
G4s 8 1/2 8 1/2
H1s 5 5
H2s 4 1/2 4 1/2
H3s 4 4
H4s 4 4
MBs 25 25
18 (could be more)
Left 72 1/2 Right 74 1/2
164 total
What am I looking at wrong?
-
25" main beams?? 25" main beams on a Whitey are big! Ive only killed 2 whiteys with barely 25" mains and those bucks scored 177 and 194 and are quite abit larger than pictured buck. That head on picture showed it all.. no outward growth ..hard bend and around, the beams are 20" maybe 21" the h4 is 3.5. G2 is shorter and g4.
-
Huntnw has it pretty much nailed. You are too long on your mains by quite a bit. I also am thinking 20 or 21 max (thats up to 10 inches off right there) and your mass measurements are all too big padding your score another 6 inches or more.
-
I doubt he is 18 inside, but the only pic I can see, thats hard to tell. Probably 16 or less.
-
A full grown WA buck is generally about 18" eartip to eartip. Looks like his ears go inside his rack on the left side and slightly better on the right side?
How wide? How much mass? How long MBs?
p.s. I shot a tiny buck this year (didn't get to hunt WA state).... he had 20 1/4 MBs and only scored 114 iches.

Exactly
-
The side view clearly shows his beams reaching almost to his nose... the other shows it wrapping around... if that deer has 21 inch mains then i'm santa claus...
I could be off on the mass but I don't not by much if i am... he has very nice mass... I also left off the 2 or more inches in the brow tines.
-
Definitely not 25" mainbeams. I have them at 21...at best 22 possibly. I believe your mass measurements area also a bit high. I have a couple bucks with 5 inch bases and this one definitely doesn't have that mass. I have the buck around 17 inches inside...give or take a little bit.
I don't believe he is in the 140's like some people have him but I think high 150's gross would be close. If he grossed 160's as a non-typical it would surprise me but he definitely won't go 160 typical gross.
Either way..it's a shooter in my book...Great buck!

I dont know about scoring but he sure is a wall hanger
:yeah:

Yeah he did look kinda skinny. :dunno:
-
looks like a wall hanger
-
:o H'es a great buck I wouldn't pass him. But I agree about 155ish. My buck grossed 162 and had 23" mbs with 7" g1s, 10" g2s, 11" g3s and 9" fours, average mass an 15" spread. Takes alot to gross a booner and a whole lot to net one. Most guys wont even see a booner in there life time. Beemans buck grossed 178" but netted 158" and he was huge. :P
-
I'm happy to hear all the feedback. I accept the fact that he may not be a "booner", but I'd assure you his mainbeams are much better than 21".
-
I think a couple of you are pretty close, I was thinking between 155 to 160. We are only looking at pictures and they are very decieving, but I figured 22" or 23" mains as they really curve around and that is easy to underestimate.
So my best guess is: Mains 45, 17 inside, eyes 8, 2nds 16, 3rds 21, 4ths 17, mass 28, extra 5.5 = 157.5 Gross
Any prizes..... :chuckle:
