Does anyone know the rules regarding hunting in the Ross Lake Recreational area? Is it allowed? I can't find anything in the pamphlet or on the website. Thanks.

It surrounds Ross Lake. But no worries, I just figured it out. It is all part of GMU 426.

I worked at the Diablo powerhouse and a mechanic that had worked there for like 30 years showed me his hunting pictures. There are some dandy blacktails up there and lots of bears. You can hunt around the lake but there are some areas that are closed not far from the lake. You have to study the maps. GoodLuck.

Yeah, there are definitely some big bucks in there. I know some people who used to hunt the area a lot and they have some pictures of some big bucks and bears!

Ive seen some truly awesome bucks up there right on the lake in June. I can also corroborate the bears. Oodles of em. Ive always wanted to hunt it with my canoe but Im constantly hard up for a partner and im also not sure if the resort still does the portage that late in the year. Definitely on my bucket list.
