so... i went out after work to try out my E-caller. when i came there everything was going good,... untill i got to the gate to go onto the property,... i tripped.. dropped my gun.. gate flew open and banged againts some rocks... :bash: :bash: :bash: every coyote within 20 miles of tri-cities heard me :bash: :bash: but once i calmed down i decided to take my chances,... who knows, maybe there are some deaf yotes... :P (kinda hard to call in deaf yotes) :P  :chuckle:
well as i hiked in... every frikin branch in a 5 mile radius was getting tangled under my feet.. :bash:
after kissing the ground with my face several times i finally set up the e-caller,... then went about 60 yards away from the caller and sat down... the calling sequence started,... went on for about 3 min... then silence.... waited for the min or 2 of silence that i put in in beatwean each sequence... but... 10 min.. still no sound... ok.. well might as well do some mouth calls,..... oh wait where's my backpack???!!!! :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: *censored*!!! so i packed up and left... stupid mp3 player battery died from the cold :bash: :bash:
well i learned something today,... if you have an mp3 player with a littium ion battery... wrap it up in a cloth or something cuz it will die.!!! needless to say it started up again once it warmed up in the car...
but the other than the dead mp3 player. the E-caller works Great i love it. can't wait to try it out again. hopefully it'll go smoother next time.

Sounds like you had a great day- sometimes it is about learning what not to do
we must put things into proper perspective

The bad days, some times make the good days all the better! Sorry it was a crappy deal for you. It takes a lot of work to figure it all out. I don't care what anyone says, we are all still learing every day we are in the field and hunting. Pratice makes perfect!

Sounds like it wasn't the perfact day, but it could have been allot worse....Trust me!! We all have those days where nothing seem to go right, but all we can do is learn from it & try to be more prepared for the next time. It is funny to me that the first time I ever went out to call a coyote I took a rifle, 3 shells, & had planned on bringing the one Circle C call I owned. After walking in 1 1/2 miles I realized that I had forgot the call.....Sh__!!!!! :dunno: So I Decided I wasnt going to leave without trying something, I took the wrapper off a pack of cigarettes & began blowing across it like a blade of grass like we used to do when we were kids. not even 2 min. later here came 2 dogs..... I was hooked. I shortly there after learned I didn't bring the right amount of ammo, Camo, Bino's, Some one else to shoot the coyote I missed... :chuckle: I could go on & on just remember every time we go out we should all be eager to learn something new.

LOL. :) YA, JUST TO CLARIFY, I'M NOT ALWAYS THAT CLUMCY. I USUALLY USE MOUTH ACLLS, AND I HAD PLENTY OF LUCK CALLING IN COYOTES, BUT YESTERDAY WAS JUST HORRIBLE. :'(

I bet you had some Jack Daniels with your coffee this morning.

:) I was going to say your not supposed to go coyote calling after drinking so much, but someone beat me to it! Were you calling at night? If so make sure you keep the caller next to you, you'll miss those eyes if they are not looking right at you. I went out Sunday and the guy standing next to me could not see the eyes until he stepped over just a tad. I'm going out tonight after work, should be moving good tonight with the storm rolling in.

IT WAS STILL DAYLIGHT OUTSIDE, I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF NIGHT HUNTING UNLESS ITS RACCONS I'M AFTER. I'M SCARED OF THE DARK :yike:
