Headed out with the dog for one last bird hunt this year, Very windy, melting ice snow and mud! Dog had a heck of a time finding birds with the 20-30 mph swirling winds.
Still had a good time as at lest the sun was out. Managed 5 quail for an afternoon. Thought about climbing some hills for chukar but was just too muddy and slippery.
Wife joined and we had a nice hike and enjoyed watching the dog work

Nope, had a bunch fly over as I was setting up and a single fly over as I dropped my gun at the truck so I could wade out and retreive the decoys :bash:

congrats. Pretty dog. 5 quail is a pretty good way to close the season out.

Glad you had a good day! Hard to believe hunting is coming to an end all ready.

Nice pics. I ended the season with a cast and blast. went 1 for 2 on quail and took a nice late season rooster yesterday, then up to Rocky Ford for flycasting in sunshine.
A perfect day.
