My dad's 2009 Jeep Rubicon, the only pics I have of it are from out trapping this year. It has a warn bumper, and warn 9500Ti winch, 20K shackles, recover kit built into the back seat with shovel and ax. some day a 3" lift with 33" tires.

Quarter and stack, or I have a platform and a box that goes in the rear receiver.

I put a whole deer in it a few times.

Bought this jeep for hunting season two years ago.  Used it a few times and sold it soon after.  Just cannot replace the 1997 superburban.  Loved it around town in the summer time.

Since then it has been stripped bare. Custom f&r bumpers, poison spyder fenders, new tub, tailgate, disc brakes, etc., etc., etc... :chuckle: Hopefully this summer I'll be able to get it all buttoned back up and back on the trails.

This is a trip at Evans Creek some years.   A memorial run for a high school friend HUGE into building some of the nicest flatty's around. He died from cancer about 5 years ago.

I am a huge fan of Sammy's, they build up nice and have advantages in some areas and short coming in others. I road in one up at Tillamook orv area for a day, it was heavily modified, did great, enjoyed it, but better, & beyond, I would have to respectfully disagree. what matters is what you do with what you have, have a good time and at the end of the day make it home.

Most of my hunting to this point has been in AZ, hence the condition of my jeep. The PNW will be a different story. This jeep has been totally rebuilt from the ground up. It has a rebuilt 350 CI Chevy Motor with a T700R4 Tranny.

Do you like those wheels and tires? I'm looking at putting those on my jeep in a 315 70R17. Nice looking rig!

They're Ultra Goliaths, and yes I like them. I wanted them for my Dodge Ram when I bought it in '07,but they didn't come in the right backspacing. When I bought the Jeep I was finally able to get them. I wouldn't get them again though. Black wheels have become too popular, everybody is running them now.

I hate looking like every other dip*censored* on the road. :chuckle:

Have you looked at 285/75/17s? They're the same height as the 315s,but a bit narrower.

Here is "Spot" the wonder jeep, May not be the prettiest thing but not afraid of scratching it. Has 60 K original miles. :chuckle:

That is a nice setup! You couldn't have got that bull in a better spot!

Perhaps, but getting to the spot was nothing short of a treat.  :chuckle:

Judging from the frame, its a 81 or older CJ. Thinking CJ-5

I will take a look at those. The Rubicon has a stock 2" lift with the additional 3" having put on I'm looking for a tire around the 35" height, figure a 5" lift.

If you take care of your rig it'll last you a long time. Don't matter if it's a jeep, toyota, hybrid car, or a full size truck. Take care of your rig and it'll last you.

We have a '93 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L strait 6. it has 412k miles on it! Original owners. We drove it back and forth every weekend from Auburn to Chattaroy for over 10 years plus a weekly commute of 100 round trip miles. Put some heavy miles on it but I think it says a lot about the vehicle.

here's my CJ-5 totally stock atop Kalispell peak in east of Colville, spun a bearing last fall so redoing it with a 4.0L head and fuel injection. also have another CJ-5 on the 10-year plan, just don't have time or money for all my projects. couldn't resist the old-school slots and 31x10.50s, has a hydraulic winch up front. kids love it!

I also re-built a 1943 Bantam trailer to help me get animals out.  Build thread on it-

wow. just crawled the thread and that is probably one of my favorite TJ's of all time. It is really close to something i would like to do. I've had a wrangler and now i'm running a GC. I want something in between that i can go all out on with long arms and maybe coil overs. all fabbed up to fit my needs.

My hats off to you ziptie. what a build.

4 door new JK.

Title: REVIVING THIS THREAD
Post by: HerbieDerby on September 19, 2012, 02:40:20 PM
I picked this up last October, I traded my 69 Chebby for it. I won't have it out this fall, but hopefully I will next year as I have quite a bit of work to do to it, and a wedding to pay for (the fiancee isn't thrilled about the idea of eloping).
