The Washington Wild Sheep Foundation is offering another sheep hunt in our annual members' only raffle. Two years ago it was a Dall, last year it was a Stone so this year we secured a desert bighorn sheep hunt in Mexico with El Fuerte Outfitters. Check out their website at www.elfuerte.com (http://www.elfuerte.com). Attached is the flyer which can be printed and mailed/faxed in to our chapter. Deadline is late Saturday afternoon at the Seattle Sportsmen's Convention in Bellevue. You must be a current member to purchase tickets/win and the membership application is included on the flyer.
As of yesterday only 252 tickets have been purchased!
PS--we already have another Dall hunt lined up for next year!

Hey I know the kid that drew it last year and he harvested a really nice stone sheep for a cheap raffle ticket. Join up and buy a ticket, better yet come to the event buy them and watch them draw the winner. Might be you.
-
Agreed, it sure is nice to have the winner in house at the banquet!
Makes the entire experience pretty special.
-
$45,000 :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:
-
Or a $25 raffle ticket!
-
the odds of winning this raffle would be much better than any other sheep raffle or permit in this state or probably any other state for that matter. Your odds in this state for a permit are something like 1/1000 or worse. Not sure how many they will sell but it won't be 1000 I bet. Wish they could because it would go for a good cause. More sheep on the mountain.

I'll let out a big ol yell when my name is read, only a month to go!
-
Is there a number to call if you want to buy tickets...is the winner announced on sat at the banquet? what if you want to mail in a check?
-
If you are not able to download and print the order form let me know and we can work something out.
We have a local accountant come into the Seattle Sportsmen's convention and draw the winning tickets. There is usually quite a crowd around our booth at that time!
Ridge...that would be pretty cool huh? First a bighorn and then a desert!!!!!!!!!!!! You might get ran out of the building!
-
Do you have to be present to win?
-
No.
-
Glen,
I hope you sell a ton of tickets.
This is no doubt the best chance a guy has to go sheep hunting, not to mention the expensive species, DESSERT !!!!
I hope my name slides to the top of the pile!
-
You can get the details for the banquet where the winner will be drawn at working4wildlife.com Sign up come on out and hopefully see me win LOL;)
-
I hope you aren't to disappointed in winning second place cuz I already have the winning ticket in my pocket! ;) But I'll let you come along to Mexico with me. :IBCOOL:
-
Sorry Scree and Starbailey but you have received some bad information. Rumor on the street is the winning ticket has NOT been purchased yet! I think that's great news because I haven't bought any yet!!!
-
That's right ramslam as I haven't purchased mine either. ;)
-
When is the dead line?
-
Orders must be received by Thursday Feb 17 or they can be purchased at the Seattle Sportsmen's Convention Feb 18 & 19 in Bellevue. The winners will be drawn at about 5 pm the 19th.

Here is a testimonial and picture from a ram taken with El Fuerte just a few days ago.
“ My hunt with El Fuerte Outfitters was incredible. Ty Miller does not miss a single detail, from managing the process and permits at the airport, to travelling to and from the hunting areas, to working with professional and pleasant guides and camp staff. Everyone involved went out of their way to ensure a great experience. The hunting areas are spectacular, and the fact that I was able to take a trophy ram made this a trip I will never forget.” Ridr Knowlton

Oh, that picture just cost me some more money! Thanks Ramslam!
-
Save your money Starbailey I have a good feeling on this one :chuckle:
-
Dang! I'm going to have to get in shape and schedule some time off when I win that raffle :chuckle:
-
I know the money I donate to the raffle will go to a good cause even if I don't win, but you are more than welcome to come along on the hunt with me Scree. I'll even buy the plane ticket and beer! :IBCOOL:
-
Any hint on where ticket sales are now?
-
Get your orders sent/faxed in right away or see you at the Seattle Sportsmen's Convention!
-
As long as you are buying the beer I'm there. :)

The convention was awesome and I had a great time. This was the first time I've gone and I'm glad I did as I came home with a big horn sheep european mount after winning a raffle complete with my official paperwork from the State of Washington allowing me to have it (had to post this part since I'm sure there are those out there that have the WDFW on speed dial waiting to get their ten points). Woo Hoo!
I gotta give a big hats off to all the people who helped put on the banquet.
-
didnt know you were there otherwise I would have introduced myself, it was a great time, that was a great prize you won.
-
Unfortunately I couldn't make to this year banquit. Was the winner of the Desert tag there? It was pretty cool standing about four feet from last years winner when his name was called. My fingers are still crossed and the phone hasn't left my side all day.

Thanks for the comment, I am on the SCI committee and its a bunch of work but its worth it. The numbers were down a little this year, could be because of the holiday weekend or ?, but I still enjoyed it.
Bob33 beat me to the punch, but yes a guy from Wyoming won it, first time since I have been going the winner wasnt in the audience, the buzz around the room is awesome right before they draw.
Did everyone catch what the Tiburron Sheep tag went for? A whopping $90,000!!
I also won a set of sheep horns a few years ago (have the paper from WDFW also), it looks awesome in my game room.

It's a small world, Bob I was just looking at your avatar and knew I had seen you before Friday night. I also finally got to meet Popeshawnpaul.
