Steelhead question, ben outa the game for a while, was wondering if it would be a waste of time to try the cowlitz or skykomish in febuary, already know the spots, just wondering did i miss the hot fishing already.
-
The wild fish will be in the sky in feb. Concentrate on the lower river more. Reiter sometimes gets a shot of chrome hatchery fish in febuary but you have to hit it right, it only lasts a few days. That time of year I'm concentrating on the tribs. :twocents:

Didn't miss it yet on the Cow, should be fine in Feb once it calms down the flows a little.
-
Thanks guys, thinking i'll have ta give the cow a try, i like the sky better, but i like broken windows and missing stuff less.
-
I'd trust my vehicle anywhere on the sky more than I would at the cow...

These closures will reduce the incidental hooking mortalities of wild steelhead. Puget Sound wild steelhead populations are listed as "Threatened" under the Endangered Species Act.

That should be no surprise...the same thing happens every year this time of year.
-
As early as feb 1st? Its usually the 15th or 16th I thought?
-
The cow should really start to turn on end of feb and through march.if its anything like last year was it should be pretty good, but i hear the returns will be a little lower than last years.the nooch is good right now,but the satsop will be better in a couple weeks time.it'll fish through march also.
