Buddy and I made it out this morning. For the first time ever we split up and hunted two different ponds. Lucky for me, the one that he sent me to was where they wanted to be. Right at shooting time I had a group of three mallards come in, I stood up, fired three shots and three birds were dead. I was STOKED because that is my first triple or at least that I can remember. It was two greenheads and a susie. What made it even better was that one of the greenheads was banded! :IBCOOL: We ended up pulling out 12 and had a great time! Beautiful morning, birds working, hanging out with a good buddy, a good dog... Doesn't get much better then that!

Nice Take
Went out this morning, seen lots of birds at first light but after that :ACRY:
my partner took one but that was it :bash:

Nice work man!!! They are chunky looking :)

Riddle of the day!......If the cool morning was started with 2 and the activity ended with 7, when it should've ended with no more than 6....What the heck could it be?
-
Souns like an awesome day. Congrats!
-
I am stumped on the riddle.... :dunno:
-
I don’t get the riddle either. Maybe it has something to do with the numbers of susies in the 1st photo.
-
Ya Total number of susies??
-
nice work! congrats on gettin' some birds!
-
Ya Total number of susies??
If it is about the total number of susies then I hope he is just giving me crap about shooting two because we only had 3 total between the two of us and the other two were gadwalls... :dunno:
-
yea if its about the hens he doesnt know what the hell he is talking about cuz the other 2 are gaddies. Where was the band from?
-
Information about your bird:
Band number:
State/Province where bird was banded: Alberta
Date banded: 08/06/2006
Species: Mallard

Oop's....my bad. Sorry about that. Didn't really take a good look at the photo before firing off the riddle BS. I don't see many Gadwall's around here. I usually don't duck hunt until after Thanksgiving and have only shot 2 in 30 year's of hunting.
Congratulation's on the band, your 1st triple (those can be hard to get too) and a great hunt.

Good job, and nice band!

Its ok. That is crazy that you have only shot two gadwalls in 30 years of hunting. We see tons of them and have had plenty of days where that is pretty much all we get. As for the triple, I have thought alot about it and I think it is my first. I have had plenty of doubles but pretty damn sure that was the only triple. What made it even better was that there were only three birds that came in so three come in, none leave. :mgun:

Hey guys relax just giving the guy a bad time, its pretty clear what everything is. :chuckle:

What is an orange police?
Thosewho are always criticizing people in deer/elk hunting pics w/o their Blaze Orange on. Can't quite fathom the fact that lots of us like to remove the orange for pictures. Not natural IMO. Nice shoot by the way.

Orange police, I like that one! Funny thing about all this is that when I shot my deer in Montana this year it died in a really cool spot and I thought it would make a perfect "As it lays" photo but was a little worried taking the picture and posting it on here because of the rash of crap I might take for not immediately tagging my animal. It is funny how people get but I like how people stick to the rules. :) Take this thread, I could have shot so many birds a few minutes before shooting time but I always wait until my cell phone strikes shooting time. I don't know how many times I hear guys start banging away at least 10 minutes early. For me, I just wait no matter how tempting it is... :twocents:

Orange police. Now that i can see. Internet cop, maybe for some others, but not for saying total susies?

So you think it is ok for people to try and say we were over our hen limit without even know the facts and just glancing at a picture?
-
All i was going off of was CP who was saying maybe it has something to do with the number of susies in the pic, and the riddle the other guy put, dont know how i got put in the bad picture here?? Thought we were all just joking around with the riddle that he put and not looking clearly at the pic.?
-
I wasn't referring to you Greg. I just was saying in general. Sorry for the misunderstanding. :brew:
-
Oh ya ok no problem just a little misunderstanding. Its all good :brew:
