It was a slow year for me.

This year has been pretty good. Seen some of the most birds around in a longtime.
-
it has definitely been a roller coaster of a year... really good to really bad...

I would consider this to be a great year. I got to hunt over on the west side for the first time and it was pretty cool. Hunted the Columbia and got to see THOUSANDS of mallards in one area. Got back to some of my old jump shooting spots around the valley and almost always got some birds. Got to shoot at some geese once but didn't get one yet. This was the first year that I have bird hunted in 3 or 4 years. No bands yet. I'm all about the bling

Overall had a good year. Just had to work a lot harder at times to get the birds. Had access to some great properties, also lost some good spots to the quality hunting program and local guide service.

4 woodies 1 spoon 4 mallard hen 2 mallard drake 1 ring neck 8 geese This was better than last season 0

Slow year for me didn't get out much.

This year's been great! Got out 3-4 times a week, never skunked, and limited most days!! Birds are still around too!

pretty much the same here.
I have been away from the area for almost ten years and found most of my ace in the hole spots have been turned into quality hunts or leased by local guides, or no longer open to hunting. I have shot my share of ducks and geese this year, but I feel like I have had to work for them more than normal. it seems like the only thing I could really dial in on this season where the snow geese and the canada geese.
Im not complaining mind you, I have pup that just turned a year old in the middle of the season and now with the last weekend coming up she is acting like an old pro. her very first retrieve was honker and Im hoping before we hang it up this season she gets to wrestle in another.
next year Im going to have a boat, so no more chasing the tide and getting chased back in by the tide, I will be hunting in style.
