Just wondering if anybody has seen/harvested a bobcat in the columbia basin.  I'd sure love to come across one myself!

I'm guessing the coulees, swamps, river, beaver ponds if they're are any down thataway. No reason for them not to be there.

I heard of one guy trapping one out of season and letting it go, but that was like 15 years ago.  Has anyone got one?  By calling it?  At night?

Found a den with five kittens about 15 years ago.  I'm sure that there are still bobbies in there, but I haven't bothered to look.  Buddy of mine called one in last year while coyote hunting, didn't realize it until he stood up to leave and spooked it off.

I've done a lot of coyote hunting and never seen one, but it seems like they come in slower and stealthy.  If you're calling for bobcats do you have to stay at a stand longer?  how long usually?

my buddy missed one just outside of burbank and another guy saw one in the boise trees. There are a few around. They're smart. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they aren't there. That bobcat mount, where was that shot?

I have called in two since 1998 on the east side , That was the ones i saw at least  :chuckle:
The two were at least 100 miles apart .
seen sign all over the basin over the years , not a lot of them , but they are not a thin as you might think .
Call at night  along the river and lower eastside canals ( pot holes) shores of lakes
water and rocky coolies youll see a lot more .
Had one killing baby goats here a couple of years ago , BIG male . still looking for his girl friend , doubt ill ever see her eye to eye .

Is Blewett Pass in the Columbia basin?

Saw a Bobcat on the side of the road on top Blewett a couple weeks back.  First one I've ever seen in the woods.

:)All the Bobs moved to Republic, Malbeck killed all the coyotes. You need to hunt Tricities or Oregon. :)

I've heard of them around the burbank area. About 3 years ago there was a cougar outside Finley. no one has seen it in awhile. The one thing we never thought we would see around here was a wolverine. It was killed by a truck in front of the kerley chemical plant about 10 years ago.

Seen one close to town in Othello and my brother saw one by a road in Kahlotus close to town. His was in 2011 and i saw mine in 2010. None of them were in spots to be able to shoot at them.

yeah I heard of the cougar and wolverine in finley. Heard people were seeing a cougar by chemical drive last august. By the overpass near the fair grounds. Burbank had a cougar  running around the park and out at tidewater. They're around. I've also heard many people talk about them out at the juniper forest ponds. Heard people killed 2 toms, and a female out there. So crazy. I'd love to see more bobcats around. If only they could spread like the fox are!
