Title: Yelm Bull
Post by: kglacken on January 25, 2011, 06:35:11 PM: I had been seeing a few bulls out on Soleberg Road and 133rd in Yelm. I havent seen any bulls since rifle season. One of the bulls looked to be a 7X7. now i know they have dropped antlers by now but i was wondering if anyone knew who got the bull? it would been on private land most likely. I never got to see him close enough because if i did i would of got him with my bow :bash: but it would be nice to see pictures of him. let me know

Post by: trophyhunt on January 25, 2011, 08:37:30 PM: The elk don't loose there antlers generally this early, the big ones maby but I've seen elk with their headgear on in April. I would give the big one's at least another month, just my :twocents:

Dont most the bulls break away fromt the cows and cruise solo this time of year? Should be around somewhere probably in the thick dark stuff somewhere hiding from the kitties.

Most bulls go by themselves or in bachelor groups this time if year.

Post by: NaturalSelection on January 30, 2011, 06:56:17 PM: A good friend of mine grew up on a farm off of 507, the last property in yelm city limits and working there with him over the years we've always seen the elk. There's always a few decent bulls. They wreck shop on the fences it seemed like every other day we would have to go out and mend fence. If I help out there this year I'll have to take some pictures. They seem to know that nobody puts presure on them while there on the property. I spent one year trying to pattern them and they have a few interesting circles that they run
